No, it is Apple policy that iOS devices expire, generally after about 4 years or so. After that, they will not get security updates, and they are in practice useless for internet use. I will certainly not defend this, it is just a fact that you have to accept. The only upside is that it is much better than most other phones or tables on the market.

They released security updates for 2010 hardware this summer.
They released security updates for Windows 7 *today*.
An expectation that they will release an update for the vulnerable operating system currently running on 30% of all active iOS devices is hardly unreasonable.

They patched the password-bypass-upon-wake bug that I reported! That's huge. Now I have to type in my system password, so nobody could access my MBP any longer by just opening the lid.

Have they got things fixed with this Office 2011 problems with spinning cursors and other issues? I don't know why this release had to BORK Office 2011. I think people out there still use it, right? What is so great about subscribing to a pay-subscription Office 365 service where you are stuck in a Pay Loop, when you can full-out OWN your software on a DVD and install it, and use it for eternity at your own convenience, and not have to pay another buck? Heck, that is why I still use Photoshop CS6 and Dreamweaver CS6, and I *refuse* to do the Adobe Creative Cloud thing, I don't like the idea of a pay-to-use software rental mode,, at all. Anyone here agree with me on this? FIX Office 2011 for 10.13!
Office 2011 is no longer supported by Microsoft, so it’s not going to get any bugs fixed. You can buy Office 2016 outright, without a subscription.

I have a 2010 MBP with an SSD in place of the original HD. I am currently running El Capitan with TRIM enabled. If I were to go with High Sierra would it be a good idea to turn off TRIM before I installed HS or won't it matter?

Photos crashes all the time, but first let's introduce these amazing emojis. All we need is emojis...

Its the unicode people that add the emojis and force apple to make a graphic to them, but bit anoying that emojis always are the headlines of the updates

This update does not fix issues with integrated Intel video on late 2011 notebooks. Please all users, who have issues, file a report on bugreport.apple.com. It's important to do, we need many reports, in other case Apple will not fix this.

What video issue? Although I have an early 2011 model, I’m curious what your issue is.
[doublepost=1509541901][/doublepost]I still can't update from the public beta to the final release. I've removed myself from the beta seeding.

Correction - Of the 10 holes in KRACK, one is for base stations that have support for 802.11r, fast base station roaming. Cisco does, as do some other similar 802.11 infrastructure products.
The rest are client problems.

The AirPort does not support 802.11r.

It maybe Apple policy, but its not a very good policy, especially when Apple sell products for an extended period and then stop support just after withdrawing the product form sale - ie iPad mini, iPhone 4s etc. There should be a time placed on support for older products (security wise) and if Apple and other companies don't start doing it, I hope regulators get involved and pass legislation to force them to do so.

You know, if I can't even remember *why* I've kept a fully-charged 4 running 6.1.3 in the stack of test devices on my desk, it's probably a good time to just toss it in the drawer. *sigh* :)

If you have an iPhone 4 still running 6.1.3 you could probably sell it to me, if you give me a good price
Well, I guess that me living in Japan is a bigger barrier than the price :)

So I'm still on 10.13.1 last beta (17B46a), but the update to the official release is not showing up on the MAS... is there something I should be doing?

At this point you need to download the full installer and run it.

Hi guys,

I started the install/update on my 2016 tMBP this morning which was already running 10.13 via the App Store. It went through the download and reboot/install process. It has been stuck on the screen with the spinning dashes for the last 2 hours. Is my laptop borked or stuck? Recommendations? I haven't tried to reboot it or anything, just left it.

Can you point us in the right direction? It's not showing for me either. Still on 17B46a. You mean the full 10.13 installer? (EDIT: Nevermind, the App Store full installer is now 10.13.1 - I'll grab that.)

Yes, that's what I meant. The full High Sierra installer.

I have series 1 Apple Watch and I do not see the update for watch OS 4.1 yet. Still just 4.0. I have a beta profile on which may be causing the problem. Anyone with similar issue?

Featuring emojis at the top of the updated features list will make more users update rather than dismiss it if it were just a standard update. Sad but true.

Ok. That was excruciating. Initially, running the installer took me back to 10.13. I've have never had the issues with gray screens after install than what I experienced with the entire High Sierra release process over the Summer - ever. It was so bad I switched to the Public Beta channel from the Developer Beta. That improved things somewhat. This time, after the 10.13.1 release finally showed up in the App Store, I installed it and got another gray screen predicament. I worked through a checklist of things recommended for Gray Screens and was able to finally get the update to install.

Now people are saying some of the oddities I experienced after the Public Release of 10.13 are solved under...drum roll please...the 10.13.2 beta. Screw it.
