My late 2012 MBP is running very well so far on update. It seems a little faster than before but it always ran well. So far so good

Anyone figure how to sort Bookmarks when they are at the root? Seems you can only sort when within a folder with "Bookmarks"?

Would you please tell me how to use the new sorting of bookmarks feature. Thank you Larry

Haven't been able to download my update yet, but the article says, "by right clicking and choosing "Sort by...""

Do people still use bookmarks? This isn’t the 1990s...

Quiet you young whipper snapper ;)

Nvidia is still far away, it is Nvidia fault. Also Nvidia Drivers are terrible. AMD instead have great drivers. Vega 56 heat 1080 in many benchs and Vega 64 compete with 1080 ti. No need for Nvidia at all, just for Cuda but Metal and OpenCL are replacing it slowly.
This is the official release, with clamshell and eject also support correctly a wide range of cards by eGPU works native since 10.13. Apple is not late in the game at all with eGPU
Not sure why you keep posting this as if it's true, so I'll copy and paste my response to you from the other thread,

"I would have to disagree with that. Benchmarks rarely go in favor for Vega. Especially when you factor in power consumption, and thermals. Most benchmarks favor the Gtx 1080 (not the 1080 TI) to the Vega 64.

I never been a fan of eGPU, as they only add latency, and lower performance compared to a full, non throttledcards.

There is a reason Nvidia is leading in R&D and beating AMD in mid to high end cards, and spanking them with the enthusiast cards. AMD can't answer back to the TI series, and can't hold a candle to the Titan series."

There was no word about iCloud Messages. I just checked now and my iCloud now has 12.3 GB of Messages (see attachment). I never used the macOS or iOS Beta including the feature.

Can anybody with macOS 10.13.3 or iOS 11.2 check to see if the messages are already part of their iCloud as well?

Maybe they are preparing everything and uploading the messages in the background until the majority is on their servers so that they can activate it.

Update:
I now also get another confirm popup (extra step) when trying to delete a conversation on my iPhone.

eGPU support is long overdue. Why is Apple always late to the game on these kinds of things?
Eh, the same reason Apple is late to the game on... well, pretty much everything aside from removing ports. And pretty designs. And sometimes their built-in screens.

The one I bought is 9 months old brand new. I paid 2500 for it. This is not a good taste to leave in the mouth

I feel for you, but similar past experiences have made me über-cautious when it comes to purchasing and using unofficial solutions with Apple gear.

I was waiting for this update because I figured Apple might release their own hardware. I forgot the reciprocal--Apple almost always blocks third-party solutions if they don't pay an Apple tax in some way.

*I am sure there is some technical / business / financial roadblock for Apple to support hot-swapping NVidia cards in an eGPU. I am curious about the details.

If Apple continues with this approach and fails to offer an ultraportable Mac that can support an eGPU of my choice, then I will begin probing the options on Windows. WWDC 2018 will be the last window into Apple's direction for me.

"In the future, Apple plans to phase out 32-bit Mac apps, just like it did with 32-bit iOS apps. Apple says macOS High Sierra is the last version of macOS that will support 32-bit apps 'without compromises.'"

Run EtreCheck.

It will expose and report all 32-bit applications in your install.

Funny though: some 32-bit apps are macOS High Sierra intrinsics. (or, maybe not so funny).

Glad to see official external GPU support. My current hash rate is only about ~14 mh/s on the Radeon Pro 560. These chips are weak at mining. I will try to get a RX Vega 64 soon...
With the up-front cost of GPU's right now being at least double MSRP (thanks pretty much entirely to mining), your ROI time is going to be ridiculous. I'd recommend against it.

What EGPU would you guys recommend? Just looking for improved performance. I have a LG5K screen and Radeon Pro 455 2GB runs it good but would like some more power for added screens etc..

Black Screen after Update on my MacBook Pro 2016... :-/

Update: Did a forced restart after 15 minutes of black screen... now it tells me it will take 15 minutes to finish the installation

Update 2:
macOS started and reopened all apps while I had a blank window with spinning gear on top of it... after like 2 minutes the Mac asked me for my password again... then Apple wanted to know if I want to share system information with them...

Come on Apple...

Update 3:
The AppStore is back with the "hey let's install 10.13.4 since although I went through all the steps above, I'm back on 10.13.3...

Let's not try this again

Same thing happened to me....the screen went black and then I realized display went to sleep while it updated. I realized this on my second machine after doing what you did.

Would be nice to have the ability to update without the god awful MacOS App Store!!!!
Bring back Software Update!!!!

Can you post a screenshot of that pop up?

I also noticed Messages appearing in my iCloud space on both iOS and macOS... maybe they are going to roll this out eventually over the air? Perhaps they realized everybody’s Messages being uploaded at once would set their data centers on fire.

OK, so where is it? Don't see it on System Preferences/Desktop & Screensaver.

It’s at the very bottom under the stock wallpapers section

I have the Mantiz, which is better than the node as it supports a data drive, higher psu, ethernet, and 5 usb 3 on the box.

High Sierra just BROKE egpu support for TB 1 and 2 devices with 10.13.4 where it WORKED on 10.13.0-10.13.3
[doublepost=1522376498][/doublepost]
Hack? not at all. It worked natively with nothing on my end to do

Well just because it worked doesn't mean Apple supported it. I can't find anything on Apple's site about macOS supporting TB2 eGPUs. egpu.io's guides definitely look like unsupported workarounds.

Unfortunately Apple has a history of forced upgrades and market segmentation. As an example: in the days when Apple used the G4 CPUs and the entire portable lineup had dGPUs, they marketed the 14" MB as supporting both display mirroring and extended display while claiming the 12" MB dGPU only supported mirroring. A simple hack re-enabled the extended display support for the 12" MB, a function for which it was fully capable, but which was limited by Apple in firmware for arbitrary market segmentation.

Hopefully there is a way to restore the TB1/TB2 eGPU functionality.

My eGPU performance has dropped at about -300% since I updated from 10.13.3 to 10.13.4

Thanks Apple..

Can you provide more details pls? GPU? Enclosure? Benchmarks? Etc?
