Does anyone know whether the update to Airplay 2 affect my ability to stream music to a stereo connected by Airport Express?

Went ahead and updated and AE works as always. Yay!

Uh-oh. macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 fails to install on my 2015 iMac with ERROR_7E7AEE96CA, offers to reboot and try again, with the same result - effectively putting me into a bootloop. Not good.

EDIT: Restored from Time Machine backup. Operational once again. Phew.

same can't believe 24 hours and apple still hasn't updated the App Store

I've just downloaded the '10.13.5' version from the App Store and it is in fact the 10.13.6 (build 17G65) version

I just downloaded the 10.13.5 from MAS as mentioned here, and I looked inside the installer and found 10.13.6 in a plist. Also if you click get info on the file it shows ver.13.6 created on June 29th, so it must be the real deal. I’m doing a clean install now, will report later.

Yep, 10.13.6 does in fact download from the MAS. Oh, Apple.

sadly, it doesnt show up in sysprefs > startup disk or as a boot option. but browsing the drive looks like no mass changes have been made on that partition. it seems that macos just no longer sees it as a bootable bootcamp partition.

Sorry, man. Maybe do some Googling?

So is the consensus that the 10.13.5 full installer displayed on the App Store is a actually 10.13.6 with the wrong description? I get a pop up that says I have a newer version of the OS installed and if I want to download the older version...

I downloaded a fresh copy this morning from the US MAS and it was most assuredly 10.13.6. A clean install was performed on a test machine and it is in fact 10.13.6.

It will be a few days before I am able to download it. I hope it is able to “see” stereo Homepods. I have been using an iPad as an interim measure while waiting for macOS to get this functionality. I tried Airfoil on the Mac but could not get it to work.
Listening to Let It Be Naked in beautiful stereo. Feels like I am in the Abbey Road studio :).
Had to click on App Store Update a few times before it finally found the macOS/iTunes update. Also needed to log in twice during the update. Otherwise everything seems good.

Update: iTunes plays movies using the stereo Homepods and they are in sync. However when playing the same movie via the Computers app on Apple TV the Homepods are hopelessly out of sync with one another (echos, as reported on this thread).
