Why can't I find the full installer on MAS? It still shows 10.13.5

I want to do a clean install

Because Apple isn't very good at what they once were good at: software! This happened with the 10.13.5 Update. Took them almost a full day to have a 10.13.5 Installer on the App Store. I would think sometime around lunch time EST for a 10.13.6 Installer. They haven't even updated the Downloads & Updates section on apple.com/support to show the 10.13.6 Combo & Delta Updaters...

Does anyone use an external 4K display with a MacBook Pro 15 inch Retine mid 2012? I've noticed a mayor graphic performance loss when connecting the monitor, when on Sierra there's no slowdown whatsoever.

And there's a new version of iTunes too
12.8
I'm wondering what about iTunes 13 and if we gonna see and new UI in September
Are we ever getting an iTunes 13 at this point?

I think they’re still arguing over whether to keep it as an all in one program, or to split it up into Apple Music, Apple sync & backup, Apple photos and Apple video.
iTunes should be split in two: an app to handle media and an app to handle iOS devices.

Might be a while. Mojave includes iTunes 12.9, as far as I'm aware. Kind of fascinating that the initial release of iTunes 12 – almost four years ago – predates the launch of Apple Music.

The installation of 10.13.6 on my iMac was an odd one in that I was presented with a 5xx MB download and thought that was it, as the Mac wanted to reboot. I actually clicked to install later as I wanted to install iTunes as well before a reboot - curious as to why I did that even. But I rebooted and the update to macOS didn't complete or even begin. The iMac rebooted and from the Mac App Store proceeded to download up towards 1.2x GB in total and then that initiated the installation of macOS.

The installation took as long or longer that the initial installation of macOS 10.13.5 I had done just some minutes earlier(I came from a Windows 10 installation and wanted to rid myself totally of Windows on every partition until next time)

It must have taken 30-40 minutes in total. Very unusual - I think that the firmware got updated in the process. I don't keep track of the version number of the firmware boot rom or the SMC versioning but that long of an installation time must have installed more than just macOS - the Mac rebooted 2 times during installation. The first time I rebooted I wasn't prompted with the usual Installation Time Remaining thingy-bob but just a progress bar.

I hope that this fixes the 'installing Windows or Ubuntu outside of Boot Camp'-issue that I was having - other MacRumors members also ran into this issue where the installation of Windows outside of creating a Boot Camp partition would always default to the macOS partition no matter how or what you stood on during installation of said operating system. I also tried with version 16.04 of Ubuntu(due to the better scaling options for 4K and beyond) - No dice. *crosses fingers* that it is fixed. I'm going to enjoy getting back on macOS and have no intention of using Windows in the immediate future. Perhaps someone else has plans.

After the update to 10.13.6, content in Safari, Mail, and App Store will not display; it loads, and sometimes the loaded content flashes briefly in the window, but then the window goes blank. In Mail, I can see the message headers but not the content (body) of the message.

When I reboot as Guest user, Safari displays pages as normal, so the problem is obviously something to do with my account. I've deleted caches and preferences for Safari, App Store, etc. but with no fix.

Anyone have any other ideas?

What year iMac?

Yup. I really want to tell all these "They should update iTunes!!!!11111!!1!1oneone" people to be careful what you wish for. iTunes is still one of, if not THE best music library media players in existence. I really can't see anything they could possibly do to improve it, and if they turn it into a clone of the Music app in iOS I will likely be in tears.

Leave iTunes alone. It is stable, works well and does its job near perfectly.
If they supported custom folders like SoundJamMP used to support, it would be perfect.
Currently is mediocre for someone like me that has loads of music files that are not catalogged (my own recordings), and iTunes does a poor job with their management; if it had folders inside a playlist, I could organize them, but currently I have to do it by hand (creating playlists for each folder).

Anyone see the full installer yet? Been 24hrs now
Nope. Seems Apple's making a lot of mistakes lately. Hope (and don't hope) it's delayed due to last minute bug fixes. Not sure of the likelihood, but 10.13.5 wasn't released until after the first public beta of 10.13.6.

Here is a thought:
10.13.6 Full Installer isn't being released because it will have new Macs in it...hmm...

did this get resolved? confirmed?

I've had enough problems driving 4k displays with the new MBPros I went back to the 2015. I don't want this OS update to degrade driving a 4K display.

Pardon my ignorance; is that how it usually works? I think you have a valid point, but that means new Macs would have to arrive or at least be announced very soon. In time for the Back to School promotion?

Not normally how it works. They release the update with new installer on the same....most of the time. 99.9%. The Delta and Combo Updaters can go without this new model info, given that the 10.13.5 installer wouldn't work on a new model.

hmmmmmmm.

i applied the updates earlier to bring my imac pro to 10.13.6 (17g65) and am now unable to boot to my bootcamp partition. the partition still exists and appears to have all of the files that should be there, the partition isnt an option presented in the boot selection menu. i have restarted and am able to select the Macintosh HD partition for boot, just cant see/select BOOTCAMP.

might anyone be able to help?

thanks,

Not sure, but as a workaround, you could try selecting your Boot Camp partition as the startup drive in System Preferences > Startup Disk. Alternating between the two might be slightly more of a pain, but it beats not being able to boot at all (assuming this works).

sadly, it doesnt show up in sysprefs > startup disk or as a boot option. but browsing the drive looks like no mass changes have been made on that partition. it seems that macos just no longer sees it as a bootable bootcamp partition.
