Thanks to all the test lemmings for leaping into this on day one while the rest of us folks wait to see what the fallout is (if any).

Unless there's a critical 0 day fix, I like to wait until the weekend after to update - figure that'll shake out the most obvious bugs and buglets.
I don't recall too many instances of a patch being released between an incremental update and the following weekend. But if this makes you feel better, then by all means stick with it.

Does Universal Control require both your Macs to be on WiFi? I have a MBP on WiFi and an iMac on wired gigabit right next to each other. I was reading some documentation that indicated they need both be on WiFi. I don't want to turn my wired connection off as I use my iMac to stream and download and would like to keep my gigabit wired speeds

I thought that it used BlueTooth. Maybe it can use one or the other. I would like to try it out with my iPad. It would be handy for watching videos full screen on an iPad while working on the MacBook Pro.

It is awesome. I had been considering a standalone display, but I think this might be all I need...

wait. I just thought of something, I have a 2017 imac i7 27" 5K. as my backup machine. my main mac is a MacBook pro max 14"

when they first announced this it looked like this imac did not make the cut for Universal control.

Does anyone know if they support more macs now?

As with the last update, issue with this update removing AirPrint printers from the Printers & Scanners list. Likely need to be reinstalled.

Most of these features they’re reserving for M1 Macs because Apple.

Universal Control doesn't work great with multiple monitors. I have 2 monitors attached to my MBP, and my iPad sits lower than the displays, next to my MBP. I can't rearrange my iPad in System Preferences > Displays to be next to the MBP, it just automatically moves it back up near the external display, but I wouldn't move my mouse naturally that direction to move over to my iPad.

Well, 12.3 - I guess it is time to leave Big Sur behind.

Hopefully this is enough releases to have all the bugs squashed…

Yeah after a lot of hating on Monterey I have finally updated my M1 Air from Big Sur. I was very staunchly against it until this 12.3 update came out and I’ve been running the RC for a few days and so far I’m happy with it. Good to see the final release is the same build.

Here’s to hoping I don’t run into any issues!

Darn. that is a pain. maybe next version?

Is anyone able to validate this? My iMac hasn't been updated yet / is not eligible. Questioning this in light of my new Studio arriving to replace my iMac which will also be wired

This is a common problem with software that controls multiple monitors on the same system and software that controls multiple monitors on multiple systems. I would generally like to be able to go from the left of one monitor to the right of the next but you can't scale the resolutions - it gives you two rectangles of different sizes that you may be able to slide around. Someday all of this software will work correctly, I hope.

I'm going to update my MacBook Pro to 12.3 this afternoon and I can try to get it to work tonight.

Does anyone know if the GPU performance slowdown in 12.3 affects Radeon VII cards or only the newer series cards?

I've been playing around with Universal Control (MPB 14 + iPad 2021) and it works well.... until it doesn't. It seems to randomly drop the connection. Anyone else having issues too? Can't pinpoint what's causing this.

Monterey Update on Apple Silicon is only 5.26 GB. Downloading now on my 2021 MacBook Pro. Looks like I have to update my iPad as well.

I might finally update my 2015 MacBook Pro 15 as well.

Download looks like it's going to take a while so I'll just leave it and go back to my desktop.

It works great between my iMac and MBP on an ethernet/wifi connection. I also have bluetooth disabled on both machines. UC is very smooth and it's really enjoyable to use. I've only had it a couple hours and I already don't know what I'd do without it.

Bit disappointed with Universal Control... I activated it, move my mouse across, no cursor on my iPad and no way to get back. Had to toggle my mouse on and off to get it to reattach to the iMac. I had a quick browse of the use-cases others had for it on the internet and most of that already seems to be handled through iCloud and things like AirDrop.
