Safari still nearly unusable for me. Anyone else on the same boat?
I was getting a beachball on both my Macs when I logged in immediately after updating and tried using Safari. Rebooting and resetting PRAM (which I try to do after every .x update) seems to have fixed it.

OKay, quick test with Blender. A render of a cityscape with realistic sky took 94 seconds on a 24-core Mac Pro CPU. By switching to the W6800X Duo it rendered in 36.7 seconds! More experimentation needed – it doesn't feel THAT much faster using CyclesX in the realtime viewport, but final render speed is super rapid.

EDIT: Ah, seems the bottleneck is the denoiser (which I think is CPU-bound). Turn that off and… whoosh!

Downloaded successfully to just about all devices, including the MacBook Pro M1 and the iPad Pro. Here's a nagging issue: In the much anticipated Universal Control between the Mac and iPad, I noticed that the keyboard shortcuts on the iPad is nonexistent for me when controlling the iPad from the Mac's keyboard, hence almost making Universal Control nearly useless to me.... Anyone else having this issue???

UPDATE: NOW it works!! This might be helpful to someone, so here goes: Initially, my setup had a Logitech K480 keyboard as my main keyboard for the Mac. However, when Universal Control was initiated, it appears that Logitech hasn't updated their software to compensate for this feature. For instance, on the iPad, when I typed a sentence out, it did that just fine; however, when capitalizing letters at the beginning of a sentence, the capitalizing feature while typing didn't work (for instance, if I wanted to do a simple "I", I had to hit the Caps Lock button on the keyboard to capitalize a letter)....

Secondly: Keyboard Shortcuts, for the most part, didn't work. I have found thus far that the "advertised features" from Apple work only with the actual keyboard on a MacBook Pro laptop, and wit the native Apple Mouse. There is slight stuttering of the mouse on the iPad, which is noticeable, but it doesn't affect the performance of the Mouse in a way that could be annoying.... Hopefully Logitech will push out an update to everyone to correct these bugs when it comes to using Universal Control toward the iPad....

Hope this helps!

Is Dropbox still usable after the update ? Can anyone comment please? It is the only thing holding me back.

I found a bug:
  • click on Apple icon (top left corner)
  • click on “About This Mac”
  • click on “System Report”
  • System information Window appears
  • But System information menus missing from Menu Bar
If I open System Information app the menus appear in Menu Bar correctly…

Please can you try and let me know?

Hello there, pilgrim. I have absolutely no comment to make about Mac OS 12.3's release. I'm just writing to let you know that if you're reading this, you are a wonderful person and you are loved. I wish you all the happiness for the future and let's try to make this world a better place. For you, for I, for life. Godspeed.

*dramatic pause*

HAS IT FIXED THE MEMORY LEAKING
Uhh thanks I guess.

It works great between my iMac and MBP on an ethernet/wifi connection. I also have bluetooth disabled on both machines. UC is very smooth and it's really enjoyable to use. I've only had it a couple hours and I already don't know what I'd do without it.
Interesting, thanks for testing. I actually bought a Logitech MX Keys and MX Master 3 mouse for the sole purpose of using 1 keyboard and mouse across a Mac Studio and a MBP on 1 monitor. I totally didn't even realize that UC was coming out so I'm curious how it works compared to Logitech Flow

Is it just me that Magsafe stopped charging after the update (amber blinking)?
I tried a USB-C charging, instead and it charged my MBP M1 Pro normally, then went back to Magsafe charging. Now it started charging again ?

12.3 is reaaaaaally smooth on my M1 MBA. I don't know which dark magic they have done but they done it. Optimized Safari scrolling and overall UI. I can usually catch frame drops, but this release is smooth, I can't even notice them. (12.2 was better than 12.1 and 12.3 is better than 12.2)

Hang for me after reboot.
Says it has about a minute remaining and it’s been stuck there for an hour.
No movement of the progress bar.
How can I get out of this?

Anyone having trouble logging into Exchange after updating? My Mac just hangs with a grey authentication window and a spinning wheel.

Just updated my 2021 MacBook Pro. It took quite some time but performance overall seems better. Mail performance seems to be a lot better.

What another large update. Ugh.
Well will give it a try later on my Mid-2012 MBP.

you recommend Monterey over BS at this point?

I got the M1 MBA just before the Monterey release so, I only used Big Sur like 1 week. Can't compare the two but I think 12.3 is a solid release.

Thanks and obviously battery is both subjective + depends on workload but you've been impressed with battery life too?

it doesn't feel like an x86-level drain?

After updating to MacOS 12.3, I can't screen share from my Mac to iPad Pro and universal control does not work. See attachment - there is no way to share the display. Anyone else having this issue? iPad Pro 12.9 (15.4) M1 with 16" MacBook Pro M1 Max (12.3). all devices updated

I guess I got unlucky here.

No power failures or anything, but the update corrupted my M1 Pro 14 inch MacBook Pro’s firmware.

Having to try and “revive” the system from another mac with Apple Configurator in DFU mode.

Not quite how I planned to spend my evening!

Too early to talk about battery life but its nowhere near like a x86 drain for sure. ARM is efficient! It sips the battery like a fine gentleman sipping his tea ?

I'm updating my 2015 MacBook Pro 15 which is on Mojave. It's 12.22 GB which is reasonable for a full update. It will probably take an hour. I will update the iPad later on and try out Universal Remote. I do hoe that it works between two MacBook Pros.
