This is the first major update I can remember where almost nothing seems different.
I have to agree. It feels like nothing changed. The Low Power Mode toggle is kinda interesting but it just lowers CPU clocks and voltage. This is the first major update I can remember where almost nothing seems different.
My Mid 2014 MacBook Pro can't get Monterey. Does this mean it's being sunsetted by Apple? Will I not receive security updates etc?
Woah how did you discover that!?This is a bug with the new macOS Monterey cursor tint option. It leaks memory on [NSCursor set]. Makes sense that Office and other word processors are doing this cursor changing regularly regularly.
Firefox does it abnormally frequently, so it shows up there quite quickly. It's tracked here for Firefox: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1735345
In the short term, disable cursor tint (I'm assuming that you've turned it on, it's in System Preferences -> Accessibility -> Display -> Pointer tab).
It's been like this for the last 3-4 betas. I guess Apple will get more pressure to actually fix it now that it's released.
OS updates don't slow Macs down anymore, but often speeds them upWhat’s the consensus on when to stop updating an OS to prevent a Mac from slowing down?
Someone please?Hello
Can someone please let me know the build number of Safari 15.1 for macOS Big Sur
And the version number AND build number of Safari for macOS Monterey?
Thanks
Camelia
Apple usually supports older OSes with security updates for four years since release. What OS are you on now? Because If that one is still supported, you will still get updates until they drop support for that OS.
They EOL'ed my mac (mid-2011 13" MBA) after High Sierra, but I still was getting software updates for Sierra on my Mac, until they EOL'ed Sierra. So you need to check the status of the OS your mac is on for support.

I’d advise you to replace that disk with standard PCI-e NVMe drive (using a passive adapter for Mac Pro), you’ll get better performance and compatibility. WD Black SN750 is a good choice, as is any SSD based on SM2262 controller.Issue installing on Mac Pro (late 2013) with OWC Aurora Pro x2 SSD. Stops mid-process at 'firmware' upgrade saying incompatible disk.
I have the same issue with the same hard drive in the same Mac. I’ve tried external bootable disks, safe mode, and recovery mode to no avail. But I ran first aid and it says the drive is in good shape. Why would this be a constraint?Issue installing on Mac Pro (late 2013) with OWC Aurora Pro x2 SSD. same here....tried all those as well, and bootable USB with Monterey installer......install bombsI have the same issue with the same hard drive in the same Mac.
