1.15 GB for a 'minor' update. :)
I don't know... recently Microsoft updates have been super fast and no issues... meanwhile Apple updates on MacOS seem to take so so long, even on an M2 I have .... and so many bugs... although none of them affect me directly lol

The "rapid security response" patches are supposed to do that (untie security updates from OS updates), but Apple has only used the feature twice outside of betas, and the 2nd time was two days later to fix some bugs they introduced with the first one. I find it unfortunate they don't use this more.
Same! I was so excited about that, and they seem to have completely abandoned it.

Yeah, I never thought I'd see the day where I was wishing Apple's updates would be MORE like Microsoft's... but here we are!

M1 MBP 16 inch connected to OWC TB 4 Dock.
All the plugged devices disconnect randomly including the Samsung Neo G8 which has troubles at times with the Mac.
I have these issues since 5 months at least.

I hope this update fixes these issues.

I had to update my Windows 11 work laptop after not using it for a while. It was a complete disaster tbh. Some updates kept failing, then took for ever to download and install and with every reboot new updates kept popping up. My MacBook Pro just installed the current update with no issues in like 10 minutes?

In addition to the bug fixes, macOS 14.4.1 also includes a pair of security updates.

So you said after not using it for a while? and that work laptop will be running all sorts of corporate stuff on it... and some of that corporate software.. which has nothing to do with Microsoft, is an absolute nightmare to deal with. That extra software is resource hungry and causes numerous issues.

No way should you compare any device thats corporate to a regular consumer device. They are loaded to the hilt with corporate garbage thats designed to track, monitor and supposedly enhance security. It's a multibillion dollar software industry in itself. Anyone who has ever used a corporate device will know what I mean.

Compare a straight Microsoft install (no corporate junk) with a straight MacOS install and then report back 😂

What about the issue with SSDs mounted on PCI cards? Long standing bug that affects 2019 and later Mac Pros.

That sounds like a dock issue. OWC is hit or miss with their docks. Some people have no issues but a significant portion of people have issues. I have a Caldigit 3 Plus dock and an M1 MBP and have no disconnection issues.

Still waiting for "find my" to show location of AirTags, this has been broken since first release of sonoma.

Wondering if this fixes the USB-C connection problem with my external drive when the operating system fails to update under USB-C but when you plug it into a USB A connector it works.
Hopefully there is a firmware update for the unit itself to fix USB-C 3.2 2X2

Welp. I just updated while at work and I was connected to an external monitor. Now after the update it no longer recognizes the external monitor. Juuuuuust great. MacBook Pro M1

I updated to 14.4 the day before a client presentation. Huge mistake but in my defense I never thought that a simple update could ruin a simple keynote presentation. The HDMI dongle would not work due to this bug. Lesson learned, never rush to install big updates.

Will not install, says user interaction required after I type my password. Ugh
This is a Mac mini M2 model, system integrity protection is enabled.
Never turned it off.

Had to boot from the internal disk and re-authorize the external drive and now it’s working. Ugh

Two docks changed.
All of them are either broken, or the Mac or the SW.
Will see how the SW update behaves for now.
Anyway it’s a 4 years old ma ch one the M1 Pro Mac…
