This is pretty neat, but I, for one, am waiting for the Dropbox app. It was submitted for approval so it shouldn't be long now!

Would be great to have an iWork app that tied in to iDisk for editing documents on the fly...

Also, would love to be able to download files from Safari straight to the iDisk cloud for access one returning to the desktop. Maybe this will be future functionality.

Funny, I never use my iDisk either. But now that I just downloaded this app, I'm dumping files into my iDisk just to have access to it. It's a great idea.

QuickOffice does that fine. I don't think I'm going to keep this app, since QuickOffice does pretty much everything this app does, allows you to save files to your phone, and lets you edit documents and spreadsheets.

Sounds really cool. Great to see Apple makes some great apps like this and the Remote. Even better that they make them available for free!

Requires 3.0... I guess I'm out.

It does look like a pretty ugly app though. What is happening to Apple? Have they forgotten how to make beautiful applications? The Keynote app is ugly too and so is the Voice Memos app.

I'm losing faith in Apple. At least Snow Leopard is looking nice.

What about the crappy and pointless weather and stock apps. With 3.0, I expected them to at least update those, like how they managed to save the Caculator app, but nope, they're just lepers.

Kinda dumb. MobileMe is set up on my iPhone and syncs OTA with my Mail account, all mail, contacts, etc. Why then for the new app would I have to enter my username and password when that is already stored in my iPhone?

You only have to enter it the First Time that you Open the App.

dot mac sucked before and it still sucks now

It has its uses. Apple is trying to add value to a service I feel is still priced too expensive for the utility.

They missed their chance to redeem themselves with this year's Back to School promotion. Very disappointed we didn't see a drastic cost reduction-incentive or promotional give-aways on Mobile Me across the board this year.

Thank you, Apple for the $30 price cut if I buy a Mac, but that is hardly an incentive for those of us who already own one. The few bells and whistles added to membership packages haven't exactly awestruck me into renewing for another year at $100 - sorry. :(

Was thinking the same thing

I was thinking the same thing when I was putting in my id/password.

Have you not noticed how much they revamped the stocks app? They added in a news channel, a screen flip when you turn your phone to show charts, etc.

I think the iDisk app is pretty nice, and fits the overall image of the iPhone's main apps.

Because apps don't have the ability to just look at all the secret passwords on your phone.

It's a security thing. You'd want that to happen?

This is a Great App for quickly checking the files in iDisk.
It goes along well with Documents To Go. Documents To Go is a Great Editing Program for my iPhone. And the Desktop Application that you can download from their Website makes Syncing a breeze.
The iDisk App sure fills in the Gap.

Am I the only one that doesn't understand why we can't upload pictures taken with our iPhone with iDisk TO iDisk WITH the iDisk app at FULL resolution? That's one of the features I was expecting to be included here. Why do I have to email them at half-resolution when there are other apps that will send them at full resolution to other services (like Mobile Fotos, which sends full rez images to Flickr)?

well, i think mobile me is worth the $99 per year if it would work reliably.

but the constant email delays and the fact that i sometimes have to wait for 5 min for my mail to update on my phone although internet access is great makes it just too annoying.

however i'm sort of too dependent on the email adress right now. so i decided to renew with a $58 package bought from amazon.

i hope (again:rolleyes:) apple makes the service more reliable and faster over the next year.

Hmm this would be a lot more interesting if it didn't require a $100/year subscription to use. Also if it created an actual file system on the phone that could be shared between apps..that would be useful.

The old 'MobileFiles' app (before it got bundled up in the current suite of theirs) handled local files a lot better than this new app.

On the other hand, this one sends e-mail links, which is great.

I think I'll probably use both for now and hopefully the Apple one will improve in the future and I won't need MobileFiles any more. But that's not the case yet.
