If only. Im still on firmware version 5B58 it never updated ever lolz...
Same here, I thought I was the only one.

Just spent an hour with apple support, tried various trouble shooting steps, nothing worked, then got disconnected. Happy camper.

My Pro's 1st gen updated within 5 minutes after plugging them into power and connecting them to my iPhone.. First time it hasn't taken awhile for the firmware to update..

Will we finally be able to see the airpod pro case battery level?

No, since that would require the case to have a BT chip, which it does not. The AirPods Pro 2 case has BT and can transmit its battery level independent of the pods.

Well this is slightly irritating. My AirPods Pro case now refuses to make that pleasant little chime noise when I charge it. The light comes on so I know they're charging, but no sound. The option is I guess enabled, but is also grayed out in the interface:

Firmware version is the old one: buds 5B58, case 54.26.0

Trivial, I guess, but I do kind of appreciate that feedback sound, especially when laying it on a qi charger.

edit: Checked on the Mac, and this setting is also the same there -- "enabled" but also grayed out.

Airpods Pro 2 ANC performance seems to be slightly improved with Version 5E133.

I often use the AirPods without music to kill the traffic noise at home and I think the rest noise that comes through became less.
I think its a placebo I tried to compare and sound quality and ANC Is exactly the same, this update improved connecting speed

Thanks for the clarification. That makes a lot of sense now.

Has anyone else noticed the following happening with ANC?

When you join a Microsoft Teams or Zoom call and have ANC enabled, the noise cancelling effect wavers in and out, and you are able to hear background noises and people talking.

I've discovered a work-around to fix this:
1. After joining the call, swipe down from the top right corner into the control screen that shows the volume slider with the airpods icon,
2. Tap and hold on the volume slider to pull up the airpods sub menu below
3. Click on the Noise Control button
4. Toggle from Noise Cancellation mode to Transparency mode
5. Toggle BACK to Noise Cancellation mode
6. ANC now works like it is supposed to work.

APP1: Updated to 5E133, Case is 1.3.9
APP2: Still on 5B58. Case updated to 54.26.0

Not sure if the APP1 case had an update - I didn't see the number before. Just waiting on the APP2 now to get the update

I saw my APP2 stuck on 5B58, and the case updated to 54.26.0 and was that way for awhile this morning.
Then, when I just checked again, it had updated from 5B58 to 5E133

I checked today and It was already updated even though I haven't used it yet. Can the APP2 install updated even inside the case?

Yes, as long as they are close to your phone or device. Mine have updated overnight just sitting on the counter.

Anyone having trouble getting their AirPods updated just keep using them for half hour or so and leave them close to your iPhone. No need to leave the lid open or even keep them plugged in.
The update should be pushed within the hour.

You lucky bastards... I feel the case update might fix the battery drain issue, I'll be praying I get mine soon!
Well in my case it has not sadly.
My Pro 2's updated to the new firmware yesterday with my AirPods and case both being at 100% up to the evening with ZERO use.
Woke up at 3am this morning and checked and my case is already down to 89% battery remaining :/

Id estimate they were off the charger for maybe no more than 7/8 hours and again with no usage at all of the AirPods.

EDIT: im starting to think now maybe this is an iOS issue comapred to an Firmware issue directly with the AirPods?
Come to think of it this battery drain problem did start for me around from the 2nd last iOS update i did on my iPhone.

I want to confirm that since the update, I'm in a new Teams call, and did NOT have to do this workaround. The ANC worked as intended right away when I joined the call.

I played the same song in the background (HomePods) before and after the update today at the same volume and they definitely improved the ANC.

It reminds me of the first time I used my APP. I could feel the bass physically in my body but heard almost nothing. This update is a good one.
