Mine are in 5B58, incredibly that we still cannot force them to update like we can on pretty much every other device.....even my XM5's can be easily updated.

Let’s hope this fixes the insane battery drain. I’ll fully charge my AirPods Pro 2 and with light usage the case will be down to 30-50% in 24 hours.
Ok.. it isn't just me. I just got these and got the low battery message on my phone. It was a WTH moment.

I found that the fastest and most reliable way to update the firmware on my AirPods 2 is to plug them into my M1 Macbook Air with the USB-C to Lightning cable.

They update instantly!

This is much better than the other method of "just wait and it should force the update after a short period of time."

:)

It’s “seems” the update has slightly widened the soundstage, and provided a bit more clarity. Of course it’s all subjective… right?

Guess i'll try all the tricks again to force this update. My AirPod Pros are a couple firmware updates behind. I use them every day yet they refuse to update.

Just had the two ear buds replaced today under the sound issue warranty so maybe these two will actually trigger the darn thing.

edit: New ear buds must've done the trick. Firmware updated to 5B59 from 4C165 (Dec 2021).

Maybe since it is not for APP2, that it is a fix for the audio being unbalanced after pausing on older devices. Ever since 5B58 my original APP have had this issue. I have found when this occurs, I can change the output to iPhone and then back to AirPods and it is back to normal.

Bought APP2 yesterday. I'm impressed with sound quality. Transparent mode is really good. Better sound experience than APP1 while watching movies. Hope that this update wouldn't destroy the whole.

no they dont, its the old firmware

Just like over 90% of app

Yeah mine too. I have 2 pairs and one is charging so I don’t think this firmware update is for the APP2. I hope they’ll update them too. The case battery drainage could use some serious tweaking imo.
Do you have battery drainage issues with both your APP2? How much they drain overnight? I bought a pair yesterday, must check the battery level tomorrow morning.
