Lovely product, lovely ad. Apple is going to wield this "seamless integration" stick like a mace in the coming months and years -- in new and current product categories. I feel great about Apple, and I really like where all this new stuff is going. To quote an overrated film, "the board is set, the pieces are moving".

Thank you. Apple has been re-using this exact ad for decades. People ain't buyin it anymore (kinda like their stock).

:apple:

It does not suck. It is just not for you. Not every ad is supposed to grab everyone. That would be terrible targeting. Don't you think the fact that people recognize it as an Apple ad makes their brand that much more powerful? Fundamentals of marketing. They own this style of ad so they use it. It does need to evolve from here though. The fact that they are hiring twice as many marketing peeps is a sign that they will evolve nicely.

I sprinted to my computer to download this song as soon as I heard it. Great commercial.

well apple made it's comeback with those colorful iMacs. I had flower power. So plastic ain't bad. As a matter of fact this is a freaking non issue. The back of the 1st iPhone was plastic and it sold like gang buster. And what about the polycarbonate ibooks? Hummmmmmmmmm!

thanks for the info! i didn't know that. the song in the commercial is "rill rill" by sleigh bells in case you're interested which im sure you're not ;):D

Yup, check out the original. Great song. The distortion in the Sleigh Bells version kills the clarity of the intro, but that intro is unmistakable. Fantastic lyrics. Great funk groove. Insane bass vocals to counter the falsetto... I guess some see the classics as dated, but then some people don't want to learn the originators.

And, absolutely no! Don't want to suggest that I don't like the new or derivative stuff. (I like the added vocalizations... maybe not the vocals (unsure, yet).) Or that you don't want to check out the old. (Just saying some don't.) I'll check out Sleigh Bells, definitely. Why not.

I was dead set on the 5C, thinking there would be a modest spec bump and a 64GB model. It got neither, so no 5C for me. The 5S leave me feeling cold, and very indifferent. I really would not want to be married to one for two full years.

I briefly considered getting a refurb 64GB iPhone 5 for $250 with 2 year contract.

I just want a decent amount of storage, without being banged over the head for $400. 64GB been around for a few years now, I don't see why they could not start the 5S off at $200 for a 32GB and $300 for 64GB.

I will either stick with my 4S, or jump ship. I am on the fence at this point. The only thing holding me back is my 7 years of iTunes, my MBP and AppleTV. I feel kinda committed to the platform at this point. :(

God you guys are NERDS! That Sleigh Bells album (that this song is from) is literally one of the best albums from the last few years. It will be instantly recognizable to the target audience for this phone (older teens and twenty somethings and hipsters).

Try listening to something worthwhile for a change!

What... am I seeing.

It's like I don't even know anymore.

FFS, just be straightforward and honest, and say it's a budget phone and it comes in colours. Don't try telling us you've reinvented plastic and because of that, it's suddenly acceptable again. Magical. Magic plastic budget phone. WTF.

If people didn't think Apple was a little up their own arse before, this will surely fix that.
