I don't know why people are so negative about the iPhone 5 C, seems like it serves it's purpose to me. Not bad, not great, just a colorful mid price iPhone.

I dislike this ad though, it makes me hungry for some reason...

Apple should've dropped the 4S completely due to it having the older screen size and ancient 30 pin connector. At the least, they could've changed the 4S over to the Lightning connector.

The new iOS sucks...

The new iPhones suck...

The new website sucks...

The new ad sucks...

I'm really wondering what goes on inside this company. Is Ive on drugs, does he have a midlife crisis, is the water in Cupertino poisoned?

hey thanks for your feedback. i'm sure apple will take an opinion like ours into consideration

ya i'm confused why they didn't wrap the 4S around the same 4" shell. My assumption is that the 4S chip can't handle the 4" screen graphics

In general plastic is a much better material for phones than aluminium and glass. It's more durable and less interfering with electromagnetic waves.

While I personally like the looks of the iPhone 4/4S, it's not a good idea to combine aluminium and glass for a mobile device.

So overall I think that the 5C is actually an improvement over the previous designs.

I doubt they would've changed the screen for the 4S. The Lightning connector was a no brainer though. Clearly Apple thinks one device in their line-up should have a different connector.

No - it's simply that Ive no longer has a nearly insane perfectionist to satisfy.

There's no longer anyone to say "Jony, that's not good enough".

It's good, but it wouldn't have been good enough for the turtle-necked one....

Means selling twice as many $99 dongles!

Plastic is not always bad. The Moto X is plastic but the build on it is amazing. We don't know how the 5c feels yet. Let's not jump to any conclusions until we use one. Just saying.

I do not like the colors.

They look cheap. My first impression was like when you find a sandal at the beach washed out without color...

They could have given them something more funky like a fluorescent yellow or really live colors. Something vivid, not that.

And of course.... a better price.

Agree! The company has lost its direction. Sad, but true...

Maybe, but either way the dongles will be bought by people with older devices. If it had a Lightning connector, they'd buy those dongles as well.

Nothing like fandork pessimism to reassure you of Apple's continued excellence. It's when I come here and see universal praise that I'll start to worry. I still remember coming to these very forums and seeing the reactions to the first iPhone. Thank god your opinions have no consequences.

The color-matched wallpapers are a disaster. The phones would look much better with neutral backgrounds to cleanse the palette, so to speak.

As for the price, let's just say it's not good to be called iPhone 5-Costly (in Europe). Apple have basically chosen to continue to milk US customers via the service provider oligopoly, at the expense of market share and profits for THE REST OF THE WORLD where service providers actually compete to win customers and increasingly dropped the lock-in contract model. Setting such a high barrier to entry to the Apple ecosystem for billions of customers is a mistake. I know a bunch of people who've got money to spend but have drawn the line and said, no @#!@#%$ way.

The irony here is that, at least indirectly, Apple is advertising Android and WP phones which, rightfully or not, are associated with plastic. People might think that if Apple is so high on plastic, then this is the right way to go.

No they won't.

and Let me guess they all own Samsung phones which cost the same amount.

what is the name of the song?
Rill Rill by Sleigh Bells

Until iPhone 4, the iPhones had plastic backs. For two years they had glass. The 5 was mostly aluminum, and now half the new line is aluminum.

Is it possible that an entire line of products markets to different people? To paraphrase something I read elsewhere today, most iPhones aren't sold to people who are on this or similar forums. They're sold to muggles, who don't care about internals or whatnot. They can buy a shiny blue iPhone for $99.

Hate the music because I love the original tune that they've ripped off -> Funkadelic "Can You Get to That".
This audio rip-off makes me cringe. No need.

It's not shiny blue, it's baby blue...

Apple launched another artist up the charts using their song in this ad.

Sleigh Bells - Rill Rill

4.6 million plays on Spotify as of now. Lets check back to see the play count in a week =)

What about it?
No, no, see… "This" is something people say when they have absolutely nothing to contribute to a conversation, but want to type words (well, one) anyway.

Here's my summary of this thread:

"This ad is great, except for the music."

"This music is great, but I hate the ad."

"This ad is great, but the phone is crap."

"The ad is crap, but the phone is great."

"Apple is doomed."

"I hate all of you."

(That last one's me. Also: I love iOS 7, I like the new iPhones, I need a new MacBook Pro, and I wish I could afford a Mac Pro but come on, I'm a grad student. And, incidentally, I like both the song and the visuals in this ad. It seems a little odd to focus on the plastic, but hey, whatever.)

Great ad, awful music. Definately not reflective of the people that use Apple products.

Some Beatles or Dylan would have been much more fitting.
