Apple Releases New PowerMacs

Same, mostly. My 23" says On or Before 7/28, my G5 says on or before 7/30. I ordered a dual 2.5 with the Radeon 9800XT. Still thinking about changing to GeForce 6800-what's the estimated ship on the new dual 2.5s with those?

If you snag one of those babies you're lookin' at an August ship date. I ordered my 2.5 minutes after it posted on the apple site, so I'm stickin' with my 9600XT. I don't think I could wait another month! :D Besides, I went with the old 23" monitor with the $500 rebate and I don't feel like buying a $100 adapter to use with that new monster card. lol

Don't be surprised if Apple upgrades your 23" to
the new 23" LCD, with no price increase. Several
people who ordered during the promotion were informed
that they would be receiving a newer model at no extra
cost.

I ordered a DP2.5 about an hour after they were available on the Apple site in the UK, and have a date "On or before 02/08/04".
 
I ordered a BTO D2.5 about a week after they were released and i've got a ship date of 30/07/2004.

When I asked my apple rep a week ago about possibly upgrading the hard drive and how it would affect my place in the queue, I was advised to leave the order as is. So I dare not ask how upgrading to a 6800 would affect shipping.

Hi, I'm newly registered and this is my first time posting on this forum.
Regarding the G5s, I was definately expecting more from apple. I couldn't wait for Rev. 3 so I just ordered myself a PM 2.5ghz around a week ago. The est. ship. date on the online order status says "On or before 07/30/2004". Haha.. I'm getting addicted to checking my order status every couple hours. I can't wait till I get one in my room. Seems like a lot of people will be getting one wayy ahead of me thou :( .
 
They already said the 6800 isn't coming until august, and we can safely say when they claim a month, it's the end of that month, or even the beginning of the next month

my 23" display is said to arrive within 2 weeks (through reseller, not apple store, so no specific date is given) my dp 2.5ghz is told to arrive in the beginning of august, and was ordered about a week after introduction..

patience is a virtue they say :)
 
If this thread if any indication Apple should have a good 3rd quarter.

But they won't be selling any iMacs (at least through the Apple Store Online) for the next couple months.
 
NEW POWERBOOKs

Has anyone else hit the apple store and seen the changes in the laptops? I was just browsing after checking on 2.5 order and saw changes. Apple does things I'll never understand. :confused:

I'm not sure what he means either. Maybe it's in a different country's Apple Store...I only looked at the U.S. Apple Store. :confused:

I figured maybe he hadn't seen the site when they posted the updates for some reason, and just discovered them now? I dunno... help us out, paradox!
 
Yeah, I know, I know...

A bit premature I know, but does anyone have a clue whether Apple might upgrade the "low" end of the powermac line at the Paris Expo?

Seeing as I'm hanging on to see what wonderous iMac Ives will come up with, if they made the low end 2.0 and the mid 2.2 I'd probably be tempted to opt for a Powermac instead.

Let's worry about the dual 2.5s shipping before we fast forward to August 30th. I'm betting that the Expo will be reserved for the iMacs, however.
 
If Apple was going to upgrade the low end of the PMacs it would've done it at the WWDC, it doesn't seem right to upgrade a product right after it's been upgraded... Well at least, upgrading it before it even ships.

Nope. Apple Won't Even Be At MacWorld Expo. They'll Be Doing DV Expo in NYC Next Week. I think Apple Expo Paris August 31-September 4 will be the time and place for the iMac Announcement. Last year Apple used it to introduce the new PowerBooks.

Mine says July 30 or sooner for my 2.5 G5 and July 26 or sooner for my new 23".

Since Apple announced the scheduled release of new iMacs in Sept, I think Apple's going off tradition :p
