The "1,1" designation is different.

but It may just be a file naming difference as build numbers tend to be very specific, and it seems unlikely that Apple would have two versions of 5A347.

I think someone earlier mentioned the 1,1 was smaller in size. So it's probably just a wee bit more than file naming?

Crap, It finished the restore of the 2.0 firmware and tried to connect to the iTunes store. I'm connected to the lan at work which blocks the port. Not sure where to go from here since it won't be able to finish the install. I need to go swipe someones Aircard cellular card to finish the install.

I think the Apple gods are telling me something

My iPhone died a terrible heated death last night. Could this be the Apple Gods telling me to upgrade my simple 4gb G2 iPhone? WHOO HOOOO new phone!! :D

Aren't the file sizes different though too?

its nearly 9am in NC and still no update

This is really beginning to bug me. Why is it still unavailable for me and my 1st gen iphone? It says 1.1.4 is the most up to date on mine. I have to stop being soo obsessive about this apple mess.

Download help

I have downloaded and installed 2.0 everything went fine. The last step is accessing itunes store and restoring the information. It is at itunes store with a blank screen but the bar is still moving? Is this just because the server is bogged down?

after error and recovery mode, restored and now i have v2 bt itunes cannot sync as a "file is missing"!! anyway things will sort themselves out in a while

edit: itunes finally sorted version 2 complete - although i think helped that i restored to factory

I've finished the update, but now when I click on my iPhone in iTunes it's trying to access the iTunes Store (which is down). My iPhone itself is stuck on the "connect to iTunes, slide for emergency" screen.

Is this what most who've actually managed to update are experiencing? If so, the store needs to come back up already so I know if I need to restore or not! (And I'm craving some Apps!)

Close to six million doing the same thing at the same time tents to lend itself to being SLOW..... chill people. Going to change the name of this forum to Mac suicide watch

Well I finally got it recognise there was a new update, it downloaded it, then backed up contents of my phone, the was restoring phone, then it tried to access iTunes store for about 10 minutes. Then phone screen comes up with the original 'world' image as wallpaper and says it was waiting for activation, and this may take some time. Another 10 minutes later it just suddenly pops up with the normal home screen, but with the added app store icon. Then, it jumps back to sync in progress, and then back in iTunes it says it's restoring iphone music and videos......It's still going and I'm getting giddy. Hope it doesn't f*** up.

Woohoo!!! It took about 10 minutes to prepare, now it's restoring the iPhone software. That seems to go pretty fast. Now it's verifying software....
OK, my update is done but now I'm stuck trying to access the iTunes store to authorize my phone. ARRGGHHH!!!!

It's kind of strange that we can't view the device itself in iTunes without accessing the iTunes store. That doesn't seem too smart considering how many people are hitting their servers right now.

Can some one tell me how to download it without going through iTunes? It won't let me restore, says it can't find the requested resource.

Anyone a link for the new 2.0 firmware? Want to do a file compare on it and the leaked version I put on yesterday...

1st post here, but my phone is also stuck on the "Connecting to iTunes" screen. iTunes is unable to connect. :(
I can wait for the update, but now I just want to use my phone...

Guys:

Its easy. Change your computer time to later in the day. I changed mine to 8pm today and voila, there is the update.
