Can someone (who knows what they're talking about) tell us if this is what we early adopters should be downloading and installing?

But if one was 225MB and the other 218MB something doesn't add up.If yesterday's was labeled as 1,2 and today's is 1,1, perhaps the 1,2 is an upgrade for the 3G iPhone's as they may need some additional code to work with newer hardware like the GPS chip, etc?

Yes.
The 1,2 was the "prerelease" and today it's 1,1 "official". Official should be about 218MB and yesterday's was 225MB.

I'm also getting the Accessing iTunes Store after I it installed and restarted the device. The phone has a picture of a cable and the iTunes logo and it's been sitting there for like 5 minutes.
Getting a little worried now. Anyone get passed this
Who knows! Maybe that's why people shouldn't download before the release!
