Apple Releases Official iPhone 2.0 Firmware

Just popped up on my iTunes. Installing now.

Installed failed with restore error.
 
And still 1.1.4 up here in Scotland. Come on. Ive got all these lovely apps and monkey ball waiting to be played with :p
 
ahh crap. 2.0 installed and now i get an error message:

"We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The network connection timed out."

did you ever hack your phone, because the only software i had ever put on myself was yesterday, so I don't know what your problem is. Mine is going through the same steps it did yesterday. What, did you pour maple syrup in the phone or something? It's an update people. How are you all screwing this up. lol.
 
Does anyone have a direct link to the official one or 1.1.4. that is an official release not jailbroken.
 
My iPhone has restarted and is now restoring music & videos.

Seems to be taking a long time, at this rate it will be approx. 15 minutes before i get to play!!!!!!!!!
 
please help?!?!

I am desperate. I upgraded to the 2.0 software update. it then said it failed and it had to restore my iphone. I tried to restore and it says it needs to restore. nto my iphone is stuck on the screen where it has the itunes logo showing it needs to be plugged in?1 can someone please help me?! i havent unlocked it, jailbroke it or anything! please help :(
 
Anyone having issues that takes mail forever to send? Also, I'll respond on my .mac (.me) account, and I'll get that response to my gmail account.
 
Got it at 5:45 AM in california.

Finished downloading and is now preparing for backup.

Common Apple, you botch MobileMe, don't botch my 2.0 update! I say that in the most sarcastic terms, don't want to start a flame war.

In fact I've used mobileme all morning and am in love!
 
Sometimes I get the little timer and it says it is connecting to the server ........ I get all fuzzy inside ...... and then it tells me again that 1.14 is the current one.

Arrrrrrrrrrrrgh!
 
NY No update for me yet! :-( Have been clicking the update button for over an hour now! 8:53AM

The "1,1" designation is different.

but It may just be a file naming difference as build numbers tend to be very specific, and it seems unlikely that Apple would have two versions of 5A347.
 
I've finished the update, but now when I click on my iPhone in iTunes it's trying to access the iTunes Store (which is down). My iPhone itself is stuck on the "connect to iTunes, slide for emergency" screen.

Is this what most who've actually managed to update are experiencing? If so, the store needs to come back up already so I know if I need to restore or not! (And I'm craving some Apps!)
 
Restoring right now at this moment on an already 2.0 iPhone when everyone in the WORLD is trying to get 2.0 for the first time seems like playing with fire to me since the build #s are the same.

I'm leaving my iPhone alone until tomorrow or the next day unless someone can come up with a convincing reason why I should ditch the early release 2.0

I wouldn't be surprised if the # of people who brick their iPhone today is far greater than the # of people that did YESTERDAY! HAha! :eek:
 
I upgraded yesterday manually, and I did a check for new updates just now, and it says I am up to date. I plan to get a 3g iPhone later today, or early next week, so I don't even know how long I will be using this iPhone.
 
For some of those getting error messages, if you are using a PC make sure you connect your phone directly to your pc, no dock, no usb extension or hub. I went through the process 4 times yesterday and finally discovered that was the problem. This fixed errors 1403 and 1603. Not sure about error 20 or 5

Anyone that did the upgrade yesterday....have you tried to reload with the offical version?
 
Ugh, I knew this would happen. I waited and didn't install the "leaked" firmware and now I have to wait until Sunday when I have a few moments to do it! :) It seems that in waiting, the version is different however. Whew! I might even wait until they can Jailbreak it, I can't live without Customize!
