Reminds me of an IKEA TV commercial

Between yesterday's thread and today's, it sort of reminds me of that old IKEA TV commercial with the kids jumping on the bed repeatedly and a parent standing idly by repeating monotonously over and over each time they jump in the air....

You're gonna get hurt, You're gonna get hurt, You're gonna get hurt,
You're gonna get hurt, You're gonna get hurt, You're gonna get hurt.

:D

With all the servers overloaded today, I actually think it was SAFER to have downloaded yesterday's BETA than to right now attempt to do it!

HAha!

Went to restore my phone

was restoring before we upgraded -

got stuck with this.

now I have no phone.

I was an eager beaver, too

I was going to install the "official" version today by restoring my Iphone to it's original state and then upgrading. However, the phone won't restore says it is missing a resource. Anyone know how to find and download the official version to the desktop the way we did the unofficial one yesterday?

Please do keep us posted on that build number. And/or what process us over-eager beavers should go through to get the correct 2.0 on our iPhone Classics -- in the event that iTunes doesn't deem us in need of the newer firmware. Thanks... :)

So, i've been beta testing the 2.0 software for the last month. Unfortunately, iTunes basically tells me that i already have the 2.0 version which is technically not correct since Apple put out a release that fixes some of the issues. GAAA!!

So what's your solution then? Do you have to restore and then update?

I dl'd the "early adopter' version and installed it yesterday. iTunes says I have the current version when I click on check for update.

Similar situation here.
Software/firmware loaded fine (using the approved "check for updates" method)
After the iPhone rebooted, it wants to connect to iTunes, at which point it tries to access the Store, which in turn times out. Browsing through the store to purchase something is not an issue.
Bummer.

It's in a link on one of the last pages of the thread from yesterday. But be warned I've been waiting to 'contact the itunes store' for 15 minutes to re-activate my phone'. so you might just want to wait a bit.

I think you can also just click restore.

Ok

mine finally connected to the iTunes store and is putting my media back on the phone.

My home screen now has a App Store icon.

probably took about 20 minutes after the restore to finally get through the iTunes store.

Started downloading v. 2.0 via iTunes around 815 am DC time; only error occurred when the iPhone told me it couldn't activate because there was no signal. I waited a while for the "Restore" operation in iTunes to finish, and it activated fine. Now running 5A347.

Great I hope I can connect soon.

Too many people on I suppose.

working in ireland now since just after 2pm.....still "preparing for restore" but at least the update is downloaded!

I've in the middle of downloading update now, and am a little concerned after reading some of ya'lls post. Whats the deal? Is it bricking phones? Maybe its good I have a slow connection and these problems will be rolled out before I get there, anyone give me an indication on how the update went on their PC for their iPhone?

the frustrating thing about being unable to connect to the "store" is that you have to sit there are reconnect your phone or else go phoneless...

I've finished the update, but now when I click on my iPhone in iTunes it's trying to access the iTunes Store (which is down). My iPhone itself is stuck on the "connect to iTunes, slide for emergency" screen.

Is this what most who've actually managed to update are experiencing? If so, the store needs to come back up already so I know if I need to restore or not! (And I'm craving some Apps!)

This is where I am at as well. I guess we just have to wait.

Not bricked - just can't get re-connected to the store once it restores. I'm not worried - just impatient :)

Just downloaded and attempting to install, but I've got "The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occured (1603)."

Got that 3 times now.

Can anyone help?

What is the modem version for the 1,1_2 FW? I wonder if the version is different than the one released yesterday.

Finally!

It's finally here for me! And it's taking forever! Do you think the rest of you could wait a few until I'm done? LOL! :D:D:D

I'm sooo excited for this update!!!!!!
