Apple Releases Official iPhone 2.0 Firmware

So I shouldn't be worried if I'm stuck with at "trying to access iTunes store" and currently have no phone? Everything will be fine once the servers calm down right?
 
WEIRD: 2.0 update available for 1st gen iPhone in Switzerland

A country where the 1st gen iPhone is not even officially supported! Only the 3g iPhone is.

I have a swiss iTunes account and yet I get the announcement (after clicking check for updates manually) that the 2.0 version is available.

I already have it sitting in my computer but didn't restore the iPhone to it. I have a ZiPhone unlocked and jailbroken 1.1.4. but I am on a newly officially supported carrier (Orange CH). So I wonder if 2.0 will brick my phone or somehow get that the carrier is officially supported and let me download it and activate it (only through iTunes, thinking I own a 3G iPhone, when in fact I don't).

Could someone confirm that if the carrier is officially supporting the 3G iPhone I can upgrade a 1st gen iPhone to 2.0 and then activate it?

Otherwise I have to wait until an unlock is available....
 
:D Woo Hoo its here, just downloading now....O2 have told me my upgrade wont be here till 18th but at least I can play with 2.0 until it arrives!! Yee Haw
 
I've been sitting here for the last 30 minutes waiting for the phone to connect to iTunes Store and refreshing this website for more info :p
 
On accessing itunes store for almost 10 minutes now! Hands shaking and heart racing at over 100 bpm (beats per minute). Testing my limits of patience! :D
 
Mine is been stuck for about 15 min at accessing Itunes store. I tried to exit out and do it again but still stuck....

My update from iTunes just finished on my 8GB iPhone and the firmware version is 2.0 (5A347). Yes, that's different that what other reports suggest. However, my update was taken from iTunes not the pre-release link (if that makes any difference). I check my version three times, so I know that it's 5A347 -- note the ending "7" not "5."
 
Looks like apple have pulled 2.0 firmware yet again in Australia.

Second time itunes has stated 2.0 available although itunes down.

Now 1.1.4 is now the up to date version..

Roller coaster or what?? Surely apple has prepared for this...??:confused:

Simply go into DFU mode and then restore to 1.1.4. Since the baseband is still from 2.0, there will be a restore error saying restore was aborted.. it wasn't. Open ziphone and go to mode and then reboot your phone. It should be on 1.1.4 now. Upgrade like everyone else and you will be fine! :D

Stuck as well for the past 15 min w/ the following message.

X We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The network connection timed out. Make sure your network setting are correct and your network connection is active, then try again.

I think their severs are getting SLAMMED!!! I have been waiting the same about of time and still nothing. :(

The same thing is happening to me, and it's driving me nuts!!!

I spent hours this morning trying to get 2.0, and it's FINALLY installed (took nearly an hour for me), but now it's spinning in this "Accessing iTunes Store" mode. All I want to do is install the apps I already bought yesterday! It's amazing I woke up two hours early today, and I'm probably going to be late for work...

True. It seems as if the 3G phones being sold today are 5A345. I'll know for myself a little later :)
 
OK

The new stuff seems to have installed. I have the App Store icon and so on...

But iTunes says it is "Accessing the iTunes Store" and the phone thinks it's 06:28 on 11 July. The iMac says its 14:30 BST.

I can make calls from the iPhone though. Can I just disconnect the phone without waiting for the iTunes store?
 
I have a first generation iPhone UK, and just now I am updating to Firmware 2.0 in Rep of Ireland.

Is it normal that it is taking more than 5m to update ? The Firmware is already downloaded.

Yesterday's pre-release was 5A347 too.
