Apple Releases Official iPhone 2.0 Firmware

Complete

Takes about 20+ minutes from download to finish install. Installs software then firmware, then boots, then restores all existing files from backup.:D
 
I installed the leaked version yesterday and it has worked like a charm, no problems at all. Glad I installed it as I've had a full day to play around with the new apps I downloaded.

I believe you could have up to 9 on the 1.1.4 firmware. I'm not sure about the new 2.0 firmware.
 
Yesterday i installed the leaked 2.0 software. 10 minutes ago i went to iTunes, click "restore" and iTunes told me, that the new 2.0 software is still availible. Now i download it and make a complete restore of my iPhone. So you dont need downgrade to 1.1.4!

But you don't know if it's the official one or not. I suggest if it's a different build then use my guide on how to restore to 2.0. :D
 
Easier to just delete everything from the thing before the install then? Probably easier to reload music and video later.
 
Does this mean we can stop having a million mundane iphone related articles on the macrumors front page now? If so, then this is great news!
 
I think you can replace the leak by clicking "Restore"- I just did and I have a 218.2 MB download ticking away as we speak.
 
Downloaded it and installed it this morning from the previously posted link. No issue other than a couple of hairy moments when the SIM card got locked. Update seemed to work fine.

"Remote" is fantastic (played through my Apple TV) as is "Shazam"

PS just checked the 'official' update on iTunes and it says that my iPhone has the correct version - V2.0
 
Oh man, this is exciting. I'm glad apple released it in the morning instead of the evening

Was pressing to update saying 2.0 was available but store was down then few minutes after it reverted back saying 1.1.4 is the latest version..

Pulled in the UK as well.
