The explicit hiding of the Shared folder (ie if you make Users visible, Shared remains invisible) is a bizarre decision by Apple. I'm not sure how you're expected to interact with this folder now?

The Shared on my Mac contains the Parallels image, BBC iPlayer downloads, font libraries, plus regular 'shared documents'. It would contain a whole lot more if the iTunes Library and family photos weren't stored on other partitions.

Did testers experience this? It's starting to feel more like a bug than a feature.

In a way it makes sense (from a security point of view) to hide these folders from a normal user (after all if a noddy user can't see them, they can't delete them)

Actually, there is an issue that has been widely reported for WiFi. It has to do with a corrupt bluetooth plist

i have a late 2013 macbook pro 15" and i have no problem with wifi after sleep mode

we have to do something more specific?

Okay but... You realize that just because you're experiencing a bug doesn't mean everyone else is. Right? Mail is working fine for me, and I'm sure for most. Sounds like it might be time to reinstall.

You do realize that just because you don't experience this doesn't mean nobody else does. Right? Mail has sucked for me since Mavericks - both on an upgraded mac and on one preinstalled with Mavericks. It is well documented that it frequently fails with Exchange accounts. The last update was a big improvement and I don't have such issues as I did before. It was unusable on the first iteration.

If there are two or more user accounts then noddy1 and noddy2 have no way of sharing content: no access to the other's drop box, and no Shared folder.

I suspect 10.9.3.1 will be along very shortly!

I see the Users folder too.

Same here, /Users is still visible, even after a permissions repair (the repair report did not mention anything about /Users being touched). I also have two users, see them both plus the Shared folder.

Weird that it is different on different machines.

You might be onto something there. I have only the one user account and /Users got hidden.

Maybe others can weigh in on this angle.

I only have one account, and it didn't get hidden for me. I updated from the public beta to the final.

Retina display support on 2012 iMac

Just thought folks might like to know that with 10.9.3 running on a Late 2012 iMac, the 28" Dell 4k screen (P2815q) has full Retina display support running at 30Hz (Couldn't do this under 10.9.2).

Specifically, I have the following Retina options:

1504 x 846
1920 x 1080
2560 x 1440
3008 x 1692
3840 x 2160

I am currently running with the second-last option (3008 x 1692) as a workable compromise between UI elements being too small in the display's native resolution of 3840 x 2160, and the 2560 x 1440 or lower options, which display too little of an iPad storyboard in Xcode.

Retina display support on 2011 11" MacBook Air with QuickRes

With 10.9.3 I can run a 28" Dell 4k display in HiDPI mode (Retina) on my 11" MacBook Air from 2011. The system display preferences did not give me any retina display options (only native resolution or scaled resolutions that looked terrible).

However with QuickRes installed I am able to select a 1920 x 1080 (HiDPI) mode, and it works great! (If a little sluggish, but give the little Air some credit for being able to drive a 4k display with an Intel HD 3000 on-board graphics!).

Shared does remain hidden, but you can unhide it with this Terminal command.

Code:
sudo chflags nohidden /Users/Shared

/users folder gone here too on nMP.

/users folder is visible on my machine under 10.9.3.....

/users/shared/ folder is also visible.... I haven't done anything in terminal to make them visible. Not sure why some people are having their /users and shared folders not visible.

Mine was hidden by this update and permissions repair showed this.

Code:
2014-05-15 11:09:50 -0700: Permissions differ on “Users”; should be drwxr-xr-x ; they are drwxrwxrwx .
2014-05-15 11:09:50 -0700: Repaired “Users”
2014-05-15 11:09:50 -0700: Permissions differ on “Users/Shared”; should be drwxrwxrwt ; they are drwxrwxrwx .

----------

Also weird that although two of us have posted pictures showing our Users folders, nobody has posted a picture of it not showing. I'd like to see one.

It looks like this.

Still can't get the user folder to hide. I repaired Disk Permissions and restarted Finder. Still see it. I will download a fresh copy of OS X 10.9.3 and perform a clean install on a computer that was going to have a clean install and upgrade to Mavericks and report back. Seems odd that certain computers hide it, and others do not.

Users is invisible.

Once Users is made visible, Shared remains invisible.

Trust me.

(Someone *did* post a grab of a command/click on a window's title bar, which showed Users in grey).

And the breaking news is: making these folders visible with 'sudo chflags nohidden' does NOT survive a restart. They're invisible once more.

No.

But there should be a 10.9.4 beta very shortly. Are we brave enough to use the word "imminent"?
I assumed a fix for this problem would be delivered 'now', rather than rolled into the 10.9.4 release. Wishful thinking, you reckon?

darn, no mention of fix for gpu-kernel panics w/ mid-2010 mbp's.

i guess i will have to go back down to OSX Lion for a more stabler experience with my mbp.

but downloading 10.9.3 now anyway and see what happens.

No mention, but I used to consistently get a kernel panic with a full-screen app and using Mission Control on my mid-2010 MBP; now it seems to be behaving.

I can confirm. A reboot hides it again. I noticed the DU permissions errors reappeared after a reboot also. A second reboot and permissions repair does not show the errors though.
