Try if resetting Safari helps, or log into a different User (or make a new User) and try if that makes a difference.
If it works better within a new User Account the your normal User Account seems to be the problem.

Will do.. I'll try that out for a day or 2 and see if that helps

User and Shared missing here - shame on you Apple!
The explicit hiding of the Shared folder (ie if you make Users visible, Shared remains invisible) is a bizarre decision by Apple. I'm not sure how you're expected to interact with this folder now?

The Shared on my Mac contains the Parallels image, BBC iPlayer downloads, font libraries, plus regular 'shared documents'. It would contain a whole lot more if the iTunes Library and family photos weren't stored on other partitions.

Did testers experience this? It's starting to feel more like a bug than a feature.

What's your problem with Mail? Be specific.

- unable to send and/or receive mail
- mails marked as read or archived do not sync back to other devices (Gmail and Exchange)
- selecting a mail folder results in a serious lag before its content is shown, or no content is shown at all
- misfiring of rules
- AppleScripts triggered by rules do not run in the correct context of the mails that triggered them and can therefore not be used for any business critical purpose
- Mail hangs frequently or refuses to quit
- Mail still does not deal properly with the All Mail folder of Gmail resulting in incorrect number of unread mails and mail duplicates
- the advanced search function is broken resulting in many missing results
- Smart mailboxes are unreliable. For instance a simple Unread mailbox with all unread mails does not work properly.
- bug that prevents mails with attachments to be sent using Exchange
- broken unread badge
- Mail hangs when sending EPS attachments
- not sure this is a recent bug but the Junk filter has become very unreliable

That's just what I could think of right now. I don't consider myself a power user, but apparently, I expect more from my mail client than the average user. I have reported many of these bugs to Apple and while they do acknowledge them, I am yet waiting for a fix.

I noticed the mail DB is being rebuilt in 10.9.3. Let's hope for the best!

Does anyone know if in 10.9.3 you can resize the sidebar in dialog windows now? This was an issue in the previous 10.9.3 versions

WiFi Ubiquiti not working well

I really hope it fixes my wifi issues.

What kind of WiFi issues are you having? I just changed my WiFi over to Ubiquiti and my Retina MacBook Pro has a hard time connecting to the access points.

Hoping this update fixes it but the release notes don't mention anything.

The Internet connection stops working erratically even though it's still connected. There are threads about this on Apples support forums and no one has any idea how to fix it. Same issue on my Air and Retina both after updating to Mavericks. Well my Retina came with Mavericks.

Edit: still happening on 10.9.3. Great.

In a way I'm hoping it is a bug. As much as it would smack of an inattention to detail to let this slip through if it were a bug, it would be far more disappointing if it is a deliberate change & choice for the very reasons you outline.

Hiding ~/library was annoying as it meant having to specifically discover the folder in order to block the Spotify cache from Time Machine.

Hopefully this won't herald any further random acts of file system occlusion in the name of simplifying the user experience.

Yes, I'm seeing this occasionally on both OS X Mavericks and OS X Mountain Lion actually. One computer is a rMBP mid 2012, the other a MBP late 2008. Turning off the WiFi and then on again usually fixes it.

I'd also like to see a fix here, obviously. I guess we'll just have to wait... It happens to me perhaps once every week or every other one. Doesn't seem too annoying but it can be if you don't know what's going on, or if the laptop is unattended and downloading something.

Yeah for me turning wifi off and back on resolves for a few mins maybe. I don't really know what's causing it or how to replicate it since it seems completely random.

Okay but... You realize that just because you're experiencing a bug doesn't mean everyone else is. Right? Mail is working fine for me, and I'm sure for most. Sounds like it might be time to reinstall.

darn, no mention of fix for gpu-kernel panics w/ mid-2010 mbp's.

i guess i will have to go back down to OSX Lion for a more stabler experience with my mbp.

but downloading 10.9.3 now anyway and see what happens.

LOL, your GPU-Kernel panics are due to hardware failure and will not be fixed by a software update. Take your Mac into an Apple store and have them replace the logic board, for free. I had the same issue and they replaced it out of warranty, no questions asked. This is a clear hardware defect.
I am now running Mavericks with ZERO problems, no crashes, no kernel panics, no distorted images. You should be able to too, once you get this fixed.

I just updated 4 more 2010 iMacs from 10.9.2 to.3 trying different order variations of restarting, repairing permissions, and opening finder. All still show the User folders.
I also updated a 2009 iMac running 10.9.0 to .3 and that one showed the User folders as well.

Do they show the folder containing the user folders called users?

I see the Users folder too.

my /Users folder was hidden. Changed the flags so it's visible again but Tunnelblick still throws this error (repairing permissions and restarting didn't help so far)

24p playback has been available for a long time. That is how I watch my bluray rips on my projector using a mini-DVI to HDMI adapter on my 2007 24" iMac.

No, 24hz (24.00hz) playback has been available. 24p (23.976hz) is not supported by OS X, and even workarounds using SwitchResX do not fix this. Your iMac is skipping a frame every ~41 seconds. If you don't notice it, you're lucky. Until OS X supports 24p, you're out of luck, even if the GPU hardware actually supports it.

FYI, the Haswell Intel GPUs are the first Intel chips to correctly do 24p, but of course it's a moot point in OS X.
