anyone with the same problem after updating to 10.9.3. Never had this before. mac pro retina

I'm disappointed. iTunes has not brought back the ability to synchronize Safari bookmarks from OSX for iOS via iTunes (bypassing the nsa-cloud). Rumors had raised hopes.

Oh my goodness... NSA does not want your bookmarks. Besides that, Apple is NOT gonna willingly give your data to the NSA...

Another non-working 3rd. display here too!

Just did the update on my nMP and lost my third display. Definitely an issue with the 10.9.3 update. They really need to test these things better before releasing them!

Same here. Im using a nMP and one display on a normal cable and 2 using active adapters. Has worked fine since I got my nMP...

Update Disables Trim Enabler

FYI - The update disabled trim support on my SSD. Had to be reenabled via Trim Enabler and reboot.

Not exactly something I'd like to go a long time without noticing.

re: disk permissions / hidden Users folder

My Users folder wasn't hidden after the update. I did just run Disk Utility and repaired permissions, and can confirm Users is still not hidden on my nMP.

What may be the difference though is I have Users redirected to a external storage device (something you'll probably see a lot of nMP users doing, since the standard 256GB PCIe SSD in them doesn't hold a whole lot).

Do a permissions repair in Disk Util and see if it hides /Users. Mine appears to have done that.

Regarding Users folders becoming hidden, the repair permissions is an effect of that likely, not a cause.

Like the update touches the folder causing permissions to be needed to be repaired.

Anyway, could whether you get it hidden or not be related to whether you updated by combo/delta/AppStore?

This always happens. The file that Trim Enabler patches is updated and has to be repatched.

Having installed the Combo update, my "User“ folder is now also hidden. I don’t mind. :)

Finder and Launchpad are both significantly faster for me. Quicklook works instantly for all types of files. It seems to be a good day for finder on my mid-2011 iMac with an SSD.

But...

Edit: Airplay Mirroring is now working, after tracing the issue back to 3rd party software. I knew it had to be 3rd party after realizing that it worked on my clean install of 10.9.3 but didn't on my working install. So I started installing the apps that screwed around with display drivers a bit and realized that the virtual display driver that is an optional install with Splashtop Streamer screws up AirPlay Mirroring, as does the app DisplayPad, which allows you to use your iPad as a wireless extra monitor. I do find it interesting that I had no problem with these apps and drivers coexisting with AirPlay Mirroring prior to 10.9.2 though. I'm just no longer sure who to blame for the problems. In any event, I'm glad I've found an acceptable fix in the meantime, though hopefully the developers and/or Apple will figure out a way to get these sort of features working in harmony with AirPlay Mirroring again.

And restarts are still hanging. After all of these months. That really shocks and disappoints me...

Don't Load it if you have a late 2013 Mac Pro

I loaded this update as soon as it came out and now I only have two working monitors. Before the update, I had three working monitors. I called AppleCare and they have multiple reports of monitors not working after the update.

Combo on '11 MBP. Users folder still visible here. No problems, so far :)

(This computer was Clean 10.9 -> 10.9.1 -> Combo 10.9.2 -> Combo 10.9.3)

Have they finally fixed Finder's inability to use trackpad gestures yet? In previous versions of OS X, you could swipe left/right to go forwards/backwards in a window, but in Mavericks it stopped working, which is incredibly ****ing retarded.

7950 & 4k?

Has anyone tried 4K support with the Sapphire Radeon 7950 card (i.e. in the old MacPro)? Does it work at 60Hz?

Hope This Fixes Mail

I have three iMacs. One brand new that I bought with Mavericks. Two that have been upgraded to Mavericks. One had a clean install. The third did not.

Mail doesn't work properly on any of them. We've been using Airmail.app since Mavericks came out because Apple has been a complete failure for us when it comes to mail. It's really frustrating because I run my entire company on email and text messages.

When I delete a message on my iPad at lunch, it's still there on my iMac when I get home. It will usually stay there until I restart. Mail works perfectly on my iPads/iPhones.

Another thing that bothers me, my iPhone will ding, my iPad will ding, Airmail.app will ding with a new email. Mail on the Mac. Nothing. The messages show up randomly when they're ready. Not when people send them.

Obviously Apple knows this is still happening to many of us. I assume they'll fix it with the next operating system they announce at WWDC. But after never having a problem with a Mac, I've had this one since day one with Mavericks.

10.9.3 Update Fixed nMacPro Running 4K Display

Update 10.9.3 running on my Apple MacPro (late 2013) with Sharp 32" PN-K321 - 4K Ultra HD IGZO Monitor using the 3008 x 1692 scaled retina display setting looks awesome. Thanks Apple...nice job!
