It's now available for Public Beta as well. Got a similar message myself.

Same here! Public BETA testers get the GM now, too. Yay!

"Thank you for participating in the Apple Beta Software Program. Your feedback and usage of the

the OS X El Capitan GM Candidate.

If you are currently testing OS X El Capitan, please back up your Mac and do the following to install the
GM Candidate. Go to your Purchased tab in the Mac App Store and click the Download button next to
OS X El Capitan GM Candidate. When your download finishes, the installer will automatically launch.
Follow the onscreen instructions to complete installation."

Anyone else seeing two GM Candidates in their purchases? I'm downloading the one with the later date so I'm guessing that's the correct one...

Is it just me or does everyone else's installer download into the Downloads folder? Previously all OS X installers download into the Applications folder.

Also, the installer has Beta pasted all over. A quick check thru the Info.plist shows the build number being 15A283.

Odd...

I was a tester and received the same GM email tonight. Logged in and then it said it would be under purchases. However, It's not there....Odd

I can't get my MacBook Pro to start after the update. The status bar on the boot screen gets to about 75% and the Mac shuts down. Can't boot into safe mode either. Any suggestions?

I received this email about El Capitan GM Candidate earlier tonight, so check your email; you may receive it too:

Yeh, it's a longer than normal, a bit bizarre more convoluted install on this one. But my version is just saying 10.11. No suffix. Before it was the Beta 8 version of 279b. The GM installer was dated Jun 06.

I'm still downloading it. Do you recommend creating flash media to install it or just do it from the image file?

Yep same here.......seems to be working okay:)

Build 15A282a. Playing around with it, the only differences I've spotted compared to the beta are the added setting to disable pre-release updates in System Preferences > App Store, and the "Beta" suffix gone from version in About This Mac.

I too see the El Cap GM candidate in the MAS Purchased tab.

Can anyone please confirm if it's safe to DL the GM candidate and upgrade the main system install from Yosemite to El Cap? Yes, no, or should I wait for the official release?
