Nope. I’m downloading the Combo update (2GB) and it’s coming down as fast as my connection can go. Obviously you have ISP issues.

My speed test is saying 75 MB/second but it's going so damn slow. I mean, I downloaded the 8.3 iOS update on the same Mac and it only took 15-20 minutes.

Can't import my Photo library

I was testing the beta versions, and was so stupid to import all my photos to the beta version.

Then run into WiFi issues, decided to go back to 10.10.2, now I installed 10.10.3 retail and Photos refuses to import my library :(

I really hope I am not the only one, I invested tons of hours in the process.

I just tried it with my 2011 17" with my samsung 850 pro 256 drive installed and 10.10.3 does the exact same thing it did with my 2015 13". Once installed and restarted it will default to a question mark folder.

Like my 13", all I had to do was boot into recovery, then at the apple menu, select the startup disk and it booted fine!

My 2011 17" ssd did not have the cindori trim enabler installed, however. But it did have filevault2 enabled. This has got to have some kind of filevault2/ssd combo problem updating to 10.10.3

Photos crashes when accessing my Projects and several Albums are empty.
Impressive!

Post install,

iPhoto library > 28.04 GB, 8679 files
Photos library shows > 26.62 GB, 8534 files

what gives?

As usual, a big thank you to all those of you experiencing problems and rushing here to say whuhhh?

Where would we cautious Mac updaters be without the test mice?

i just bought a 2015 13" rMBP (my first MAC) and WIFI has been horrible, i keep having to turn off wifi and turn it back on every few minutes, basically making it unuseable. I've only used it with the apple BT Keyboard and Magic mouse, so not sure if the issue is in combination with that.

Going to update later on today and hope that this issue has been fixed! **Crosses fingers**

Great, I've tired everything I know, and still can't get my MacBook air to boot after this update. It just keeps rebooting over and over. Looks like I'm going to have to reformat and install a fresh copy of OSX. Thanks Apple.

Any way to access Faces albums from Photos OS X on Photos iOS? If yes, it doesn't seem obvious or very discoverable.

Just installed 10.10.3 and was able to delete iPhoto from Launchpad, which is a marked change from the betas.
I imported my iPhoto library to Photos in the beta sequence, then after ascertaining everything was moved over I deleted the iPhoto library entirely but couldn't delete the actual application. This is the first I've seen that we were able to just straight up delete the app.

what if you don't have iPhoto just the pictures on the mac? Should you delete the photos once the photos library is created? The photos are now taking double the size in my mac.

Try holding down CMD-OPTION-P-R until is reboots twice.

New photo app below par

Holy crap Photos for OS X suuuuuuucks.

My worst fear come true, the new photo app is absolutely rubbish. Not even near being a replacement for Aperture. So disappointing.

Apples list of disappointments keeps growing::mad::mad:
- killing of Aperture
- making an iphone (6) that keeps slipping out ones hand
- putting the on/off button (iPhone 6) in a stupid place (how many times have you shut your phone unintentionally just because the button is placed where you would naturally hold the phone?)
- And the biggest idiot design mistake off them all: a €2600/$2800 laptop without the ability to lock it down!!!

Dear Apple :apple::apple: breaking news!! A laptop is used more often than not, outside of ones house. And I for one don't want to take my laptop to the toilet / restroom every time nature calls.

Mr Ives you have lost the plot design is not above functionality!

So the advice I have so far is to backup my entire system and probably have an extra copy of my iPhoto library on an external drive before I update. Anything else I should do? Late-2013 13" rMBP, Filevault disabled, iPhoto library nicely arranged in albums and some events.

Update did this to my 2011 iMac. Can't seem to start in recovery mode either...

The new photos app is as bad as the old iPhoto app handling over 50k images! I have nearly 70k images and by 50k mark, everything lags and it's just terrible compared to even LR 5. Beachball everywhere. Absolutely a poor excuse of a photo management app.

I think I'm going to wait for LR6 - this app is just terrible overall. I think it's meant for absolutely all noob mac users.

So I would say, cautiously, yes, you can just delete the iPhoto library AFTER you've imported everything to Photos. That's what I did when the Photos app first surfaced in the beta and had no lasting consequences.

Nothing yet at Apple.com/support/downloads - so has anyone got a link for a standalone Delta installer one can grab for multiple Macs in the household? I assume the Combo 10.10.3 won't install over 10.10.2 the way the combo 10.10.2 wouldn't install over 10.10.1. :S

EDIT: NVM - found it myself by playing with URLS:

https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1805?locale=en_US

From what I read online once I open photos for the first time it will automatically start to convert and import my iPhoto library. Can I choose not to do this? As I want to start fresh and manually import all of my photos a folder at a time.
