Apple Releases OS X Yosemite Golden Master Candidate to Developers [Update: Also Public Beta]

I am assuming that Beta 4 is the same thing? (GM Candidate?)

I installed Beta 3 by the public testing program.

OS X Yosemite is in a totally different league than iOS 8 is. Since beta 3 it's been really polished and felt very much final. I've had very little annoyances and I'm running it as my primary OS.

Pretty sure it was just held out until Yosemite was officially launched so that iOS 8 users wouldn't have a toggle for something they can't use yet. Please post back if it is included in 8.1. I am waiting to install that until I'm sure it's safe. SMS relay was working flawlessly on my 2009 macs during the summer beta periods so I asume it will work when it's officially released.
 
no thanks. my public beta 10.10 and iOS 8.0.2 are working nearly fine for me at the moment.
 
I just can't believe those separated back and forward buttons are making it into the final release. Why can't they look like this: :mad:

Public Beta 4 is out.

Totally agree. Much more subtle and elegant, showing how they are in relation to one another rather than separate like other buttons.
 
Hoping some big memory leaks have been plugged.. DP8 Has been leaky as heck for me in both safari and window server.
 
Feels faster

Just updated to GM from las DP, haven't check for visual changes or features yet, however I can say it feels much faster than before.
 
Have they fixed Spotlight?

I strongly dislike the new Spotlight window. It is way to small!

Most of my searches produce a large number of hits and I need a quick overview over the results. The way the new Spotlight window is structured, it hides more than it reveals - I can not even make it bigger or the list longer. So it requires an awful lot of scrolling. Not happy :(
