By the way, MacRAND, thanks for a great presentation.. that clinched the decision for me to purchase .Mac!
I have no idea when anything is going to arrive, but I'm too giddy to worry!

I assume the RAM will arrive first, as the warehouse is about 15 minutes from here.
As for the PB, the order status now says "Open"...
Thanks again!
There was a save $30 on .mac when you buy it with a computer mail-in-rebate. Maybe you should reconsider.
Also the cheater method to get office pro (or standard for a discount)
buy office students and teachers ($125 on amazon) then you can upgrade to standard for $99 or pro for $129. Final cost is $235 for standard or $265 for pro (including shipping) a savings of $165 off of the standard price and $235 off the pro price. Good deal in my eyes!
Of some advice from a long time switcher to make your mac stay more pleasurable
1. Think logically, not windows (OS X works the way you think it should, not the way windows taught you
2. Get a 2-button mouse, and don't forget to add sidetrack to enable scrolling on your trackpad (Look in version tracker, it is free)
3. Don't forget about expose..it saves a lot of time
4. If you can't figure it out, try drag and drop.
5. save dialogs do not have the same functionality as windows ones...you cannot move files or delete them. Do not forget to expand your dialog box with that arrow so you can see your full directory.
6. Delete is not backspace!!!!!!! (you can get ucontrol and change it to backspace if you like, the notebook keyboards are different than windows keyboards)
7. apple key = control. Most keyboard shortcuts are the same
8. if you miss your startmenu...make a shortcut for your applications folder on the dock. right click (control click) or hold down your mouse on it, and all your apps show up.
9. If the solution seems obvious and easy, it is usually how it works.
10. have fun.
Some notes on office: the page set-up dialog boxes are really different than the pc version....it wil take some getting used to. The formating pallete is pretty cool, but entourage is very different than outlook....be patient if you plan on using it.
Enjoy your new powerbook!
