10th March  if this is standard across the board, who's going to cancel their order? I'm tempted... I may as well wait for Rev B at this rate.

Im tempted to cancel my order now and just wait for the apple store in KC to get them in. I am on thier list as well. My shipping date isn't till the 28th but if these have been pushed back to March mine will get pushed back to April.

Just phoned Regent Street store in London and they claim that they DO NOT have any MacBook Pros in this weekend, but that they MAY have them in for next weekend.

Edit: so the 3-4 weeks shipping estimate may well be for any macbook pro, even ones ordered on the 10th Jan! Does anyone else remember the shambles that was the release of the PowerMac G5s?

Sigh. It was all lies. So how was the release for the Powermac G5. Was it "delayed". :(

Does everyone that had an orignal shipping date of Feb. 7th, which got pushed back to the 10th, have a shipping date in March now? I'm starting to worry about my Feb. 15th date, since Apple has only told people there has been a delay on the date it was supposed to ship.

Can anyone with an orginal 7th ship date weigh in on this?

Where are all the MacBook Pro buyers in the UK.. in the days following the Keynote they were all over this website and now......silence....

I want a flood of updates from them.... how about you just put the curent shipping date you have.

Anyway.... I am still close to cancelling my order. This is so typical of Apple.

Nice one Apple, you sure know how to keep your customers happy...

What's new? ..and just wait when Rev B comes out, and you'll see some unhappy customers. But nonetheless, hang in there, i'm sure it will be worth your wait! Enjoy.

Arriving in Jersey in a shop near you!!

Hey all, i work part-time in a shop in Jersey (those of you who live here will know where) at lunch time today i paid the chaps a visit from my full time job just in time for the phone call from our suppliers to tell us that our order has been dispached from Apple to our wholesalers (who are recieving around 1000) and would be arriving with us in about 10 days !!!

THIS IS ONLY THE 1.67'S .......my one :)

i would guess that people in the UK that have ordered the standard 1.67 would be able to expect about the same wait or possibly less as it has to go one more "hop" to get to us...

i just sold my current 1ghz 15" today, and i can't live without my laptop !!

OK... are we talking IQ? And what of the 1.83GHz? You can't rouse my interest and not give details!

I thought I might as well add to the flood of post from members from Jersey!
l'm between laptops at the moment(posting from a PDA with handwriting recognition) I love a Mac and hopefully be in London next week so won't have to pay inflated prices! or I might wait for the 12'' or whatever Steve has planned for the 30th in April.

I wonder what this will do for the USA shipping times. I still have a ship date of the 15th. Hopefully it won't change but i'm pretty doubtful now :(

If you see something about a hostage situation in the Mall of America Apple store on the 15th just be aware that, that's me.

Jobs and Apple shouldn't be making frigging estimates that they obviously can't meet. Its pretty obvious from the MO used for people with Feb 7th shipping dates and then Feb 10th shipping dates that those of us with Feb 15th shipping dates won't know about any delays until the day of. I'm spending just a tad over 3 and a half grand on the purchase of this laptop and its accessories. I expect better care then being fed BS.

Mine was ordered Jan 10th before 8pm GMT. It was for a 1.6 with 1gb ram
original esimated shipping was Feb 7th. I got the slip to Feb 10th, and now have the slip to Mar 10th.

The email states...
"We regret to inform you that due to exceptional demand for the product you ordered we must revise the previously estimated ship date for your order. We now expect to dispatch your order on or before 10.03.2006.

We estimate that it will be delivered to your shipping address on or before
17.03.2006.
Please note that these dates are estimated lead-times only. Once your order has dispatched, you will receive a Dispatch Notification email, which will provide you with detailed delivery information.

Please note that product availability can change rapidly and it is possible that your order may ship much sooner than we anticipate."

I have ZERO faith that it will actually ship on March 10th. The person I spoke to when I rang up was unable to provide a proper explanation - I dont believe its the stated reason because a) the demand hardly all occured yesterday afternoon, and can't have been a surprise, and b) if I was in a queue someone, somewhere would have got one by now.

A lot of people will be new to apple, switching like me from PCs, and this will probably not do their reputation any favours...

Certainly spoiled my week...

So they're saying the delay is purely down to demand, doesn't that mean they've sold yours to someone who ordered later than you?

I ordered on 11th Jan from edu (UK)

1.83 plus 7200 HDD

Still got my original est ship and del of 15th and 23rd Feb

Oh, and if you want to check out what can happen, this thread was started when the liquid cooled G5s started to ship 1 month late. We haven't even hit the estimated shipping date yet, so please keep some perspective!

Its not yet February 7th where you live? That was my original estimated shipping date.

Alright, fair comment, but my point was that we've a long way to go to beat the G5 liquids for late shipping. Having waited through that sorry saga, I'm sort of expecting a wait! :(

So you're saying, because its happened before its ok for them to do it again?

Question about macpro/video ipod

Hi- I am new to Mac but not to the ipod. Does anyone know (once my Macbook pro finally gets here) about getting a t.v. tuner for it and converting to video for the ipod? Are there only specific tuners that will work? Can you convert movies from your computer to play on the ipod? Would you even need the rumored new vpod? Many, many questions....

yes

Hi. Just buy any TV tuner that has EyeTV softare. I have the elgato cinergy T2 with EyeTV - records digital terrestrial tv and when you go to your programme list you can click export and select 'for ipod'.

Not that my ipod plays video..

There's an even smaller DTT tuner now - it's small like a USB flash drive. You generally need an aerial other than the supplied one though if you want to pick up any kind of signal.

PS. - search for threads - there are loads on this already...
