Microsoft would much prefer you use Outlook 2016, which is the currently shipping version. I use it at work and can tell you it's much improved from 2011! Actual push email and even uses the system notifications. Also much easier to look at. Of course everything was a step up from the Lotus Notes I had to use prior...

I call B.S. Im on PB3 and still using Outlook 2011 no issues at all. In fact Outlook / Office 2011 is still faster at starting than even the Office beta that was released which took almost 5 times longer to start, and on a MBPR. If a newer version cannot open / start as quickly or quicker than the old version, no point.

I don't know what kind of Office 2011 you were using but my version was almost completely unusable since 2013. Office 2016 has been great on my MBP.

Yaay! Font book is working again and Mail doesn't freeze as soon as it is opened, and even Outlook 2016 started working again. :)

Do you understand the concept of Beta software, at all?

Please explain to us why it's Apples job to make their beta OS to work with third party apps? Because in the real world, this is why developers are given beta releases to work out their problems.

Yes I understand the concept of Beta Software. Do you also understand the concept of what a Beta Software Tester responsibilities are? I have ran Betas for numerous software products and I am just reporting on issues that I have had using this beta release. These issues have been reported to Apple, which as a beta tester, it is part of the responsibility you take on when you agree to be a beta tester.

Notification Centre seems to have been locked down so much most things can't access the internet or other apps. Whoops. Calendar and reminders are both empty. Stocks doesn't update. I don't think anything is capable of playing an alert sound; at least the alerts still work.
I'm having same problem.

Feedback has been submitted to Apple.

Anyone else have a graphics glitch with Thunderbolt display - monitor keeps blacking out. Cursor visible, sometimes have to gesture to switch desktop to get anything else to display?

I have a Mac Pro (cylinder) with a TB display. When I run the Arabesque, Shells, or Word of the Day screen savers, my screen flashes crazy like a strobe light. I submitted a feedback to Apple about it. This also happens with the HD HomeRun TV viewing app, but only when it goes full screen. Submitted feedbacks for both...

Can someone post direct links? Software update is not showing it for me. I tried deleting the app store prefs and entering the terminal commands from an earlier post in this thread and its still not updating. Thanks.

Anyone else notice that you can't rearrange or drag any file off of your desktop? you can drag files onto the desktop but to remove them you either have to move to trash and move someplace else or open the desktop via finder?

EDIT: Never mind... after a reboot it resolved the issue.

People complained of bugs in Yosemite so this year they are focusing on Stability and Performance. Of course for us users who didn't have problems with Yosemite are now complaining about the lack of new features in El Capitan. Apple Engineers lose either way.
OK true. Stability and performance might get a boost, but expectations were stronger, probably because of their marketing. For now I don't find the new features impressive and even then they are not intuitive.

Did this update fix the bug where the 12" MacBook can't power an external monitor at a higher resolution than 1080p? On Yosemite I can run my 2K monitor at 60Hz with no issues.

After Effects CC 2015 doesn't work on PB3. The rest (as far as I know) are fine if they're updated (i.e. Ai 19.1 works but 19.0 doesn't).
Did you have any luck getting After Effects to run? I would love any tips/ help if you've got an idea. Thanks!

Did you find a way to run After Effects on the newest Beta? Would love any help if you figured it out!

And you think that the past 2 years apple produced such good software???
One bug after another! It is starting to look more and more like windows!

I agree with you , the yearly update cycles have resulted in windows being more stable for me

Im not a MS fan. But Apple aint doing so well lately on their softwares.

Completely agree. My money is on windows 10 to more stable than apple, cause they are not going to give us a free update each year, rushing it out with bugs as a markerting move

I installed Windows 10 this morning in my Parallels 10, and I can't find the Edge browser! It's missing. IE is there, but nothing else. And there are no 'active' tiles. Either Windows 10 bug or Parallels 10 bug.
There are a four ever so slightly different versions of Windows available. Parallels had a message about not supporting Win10 for me yesterday but today, it’s gone??
