Messages

Is anyone having problem sending non-iMessage texts in the Messages app? I'm able to send iMessages to other iOS friends, but it will not send regular SMS's anymore. I've tried wiping my iPhone and logged out of and back in iCloud on my laptop and still having the same problem.

Planning to stay on Mavericks for a long time even when Yosemite is released.
I don't like the 2D dock on Yosemite or the other UI changes (which you can't change AFAIK).

Thanks for letting us know. Will you also stay with your iPhone 3G?

I second that, to solve this issue (it is a Signature Problem) ..... Use TEXT format in your signature , and it will solve your problem. In some cases you will need one TEXT formatted Signature , not multiple, and the problem will be solved

Well, not really "solved" since it still means that we can't use multiple signatures nor signatures that we've already created with images. As well, it is still impossible to edit already created signatures.

It is a mess and all we can do is work around until the Beta is updated. Hopefully before tomorrow's launch of ios8.

Bottom line is that the signatures function in mail is majorly screwed up and there is not solution that fixes the issue so that it is working 100% properly.

I can't even open the Messages app, it opens but no screen or active options on the menus. It requires a force quit to exit.

Any one else thinks Apple should fix or come up with a new Finder?

Yep, now you've pointed it out I agree. Finder has been bugging me since Mavericks, it just doesn't work to great. Maybe because they've put so much features in there? (AirDrop, iCloud) I mean I love finder, and it works great with documents en using a lot of sub-folders and you have a lot of options to 'view' your files so you can make it the way you want. But the whole picture just doesn't come the way it used to, I can't really put my finger on it...

notification centre

Now, when you click on message, Facebook etc... in the notification centre it will show what kind of message you are sending on top. In the previous versions it was blank.

SMS relay has been disabled, may not return until October.

Although this is complete **** for a "fix" it did work. Removed signature and tried replying and creating messages and it worked 100%. Then recreated a new signature that had no image in it and it's still working flawless.

Flawless is a relative term, since it's not working fully with an image anymore. Ugh\

So far, this is the only bug I've found. Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop CS6, and Photoshop/Illustrator CC 2014 both appear to be working in PB2/PB3 without hiccups.

----------

I seriously can't believe the kinds of things you guys sit here and nitpick. You're complaining about a font...get off the computer and go pickup some girls or something lol. If the operating system functions are working, who really cares what font is used? Perhaps you might try creating an entire operating system yourselves?

Upgraded last night to beta 3 and mail wouldn't let me text in reply or close reply windows. I deleted my signature which contained pictures, and added just the text, and it is working fine now.

I still miss the old Tiger Spotlight search window. Made it so easy to find and delete associated files with programs. And no, enabling "System files" in "search attributes" does not result in as thorough search results as they were in Tiger Spotlight search with. It does not find those he hadn't ".bom and .plist" in receipts folder. Not like EasyFind or Tiger Spotlight search window did. I use EasyFind now but the old Tiger Spotlight window was better categorized. An app called "Tembo" is very similar but doesn't work as well at finding deep-rooted associated files.

They finally cleaned up the pop over graphic! No more jagged edges on right click menu. Can't tell you how much that bothered me for the last few months.

This is easier: Click on About This Mac …

Re https://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=19699403#post19699403 the advice was for someone who is already in System Information.

I'm rarely without Terminal, so I find it easiest to use sw_vers(1). YMMV.

----------

I did have to reboot - tried without, and the problems remained. Does OS X never cache plist files?

A logout and in again may be sufficient, I suppose.

...Complaining about rounded edges on a right click menu, meanwhile you're room at your parents house still has dirty dishes with old pizza crust, and glasses with hot chocolate from months ago all over ;)

If we're getting really picky, the blueish/greenish hue on the harddrive icon (desktop) is driving me crazy.

Maybe you should take your own advice dude, and stop acting like a child with hilariously irrelevant insults when you're complaining about just as trivial things yourself.

Trying to call out people in this way puts you way above them in the get-off-the-computer-and-go-pickup-a-girl scale .

Tiger was a fantastic release. I still use it almost daily on my PowerBook G4.

LOL, it was a joke. I'm here complaining about the functionality of signatures in the mail app working.
