friend on PB2 cant see the update either. seems to have been pulled or pushed as DP 7 in the first place.

my DP 8 worked fine tho

More than likely. Just because you don't see it =/= pulled. Screenshot to show downloading and the time.

Correct, just because we don't see it doesn't mean its pulled, but for those of us who don't see it, the thought that comes to mind is that it was pulled mid download.

Out of curiosity, what machine are you on?

I'd beware of installing an update that they've clearly pulled for some reason. Why not wait until they re-issue a PB update that they are comfortable with? It seems obvious that there was a mixup in what versions they made available.

I'm willing to be patient and see what they come up with most likely within a few hours.

Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it was pulled. If it was pulled I wouldn't be downloading because there isn't a seed to get it from - it's probably just being rolled out in tiered stages.

Previous design.

rMBP 15"

Not sure if it's been pulled per se - i think they've put both developers and public betas on the same stream now. My DP8 is showing as Yosemite Beta in 'About this Mac'. Although that could have been there before!

haha I just installed beta 3 right before this appeared
my disk is still busy cleaning up and stuff.

I guess that means I'm either lucky that I got it before they pulled it... OR I should be scared for my life.

You, sir, are funny! :D "scared for my life" I burst out the moment it dawned upon me as to why would they pull out an update (serious problem introduced).

Yosemite - No camera connected

For those running Yosemite, I am on PB2 and my camera has not been functioning. It shows in the system report that no camera is detected/connected. Similar message in the FaceTime and Photo Booth apps.

I have tried restarting, SMC/PRAM, VDCAssistant, reinstallation of OS X and a few other things I found on the web but still doesn't work.

Is anyone else encountering a similar issue on any version of Yosemite?

PS. Im running MBA 13in Mid 2011

I was in-mid download and then it disappeared. If its gone now, how can I delete what it had already downloaded?

They still haven't fixed the Safari bug where if you don't have the tab bar showing and you open a second tab from the "tab exposé" screen the window does NOT expand to accommodate the now-visible tab bar and when you close the second tab the entire window shrinks. Over the corse of a day it can drastically reduce the size of your window.

Here's a positive, Safari seems more responsive and overall faster speeds.

Finally, sometimes when I first start my Mac it takes a good 10 seconds before Google loads and becomes responsive... On one of their top MacBooks :roll eyes:.

Also it's still not appearing in my App Store updates (UK).

Similar problem happened for me - I accidentally quit the App Store mid download. I restarted the App Store and now nothing. GAH!!

hardware acceleration for transitions enabled, or seems like it.

Indeed. It's snappier.
In DP7 most of the animations lagged (and mind you, I'm using a Haswell 15" rMBP) but now everything is smooth. Can't wait for the GM to do a clean install. :)

Finder redraw is still not as smooth as Mavericks but it's much faster than DP7.

Anyone having trouble updating from the Mac App Store i can't update any app or even see the pb3. suggestions on a fix? reinstall necessary?
