I know a lot of apps were crashing early on. Any word on whether most things work? I know that's a loaded question. Just wondering if people are still noticing compatibility issues with many big third party apps.

I'm thinking of giving this a go but not if in stuck with mostly first party support.

Every major bug I found with Google Maps and Facebook Messenger and some crashing with minor apps have been fixed. All my other third party apps have been working mostly flawlessly since the first beta. This release might be almost ready for mass consumption.

In a new empty message? Sure
Compare that to an ongoing conversation. From the massive pointless banner on the top (do I need to see a contact photo or a flippin' initial like that to know who I am talking to? No. Can I just "not use it" or "turn it off" like you suggest? No.) to the tiny Send button which doesn't even say Send anymore, to all the garbage going on where there used to be a simple camera icon for taking or inserting photos, 2/3's of the screen is now taken up by everything but my actual conversation. It's even worse if you leave predictive text on which clearly I don't, because I know how to spell my own words thank you Apple. This is a Texting app, not Snapchat. Adults use this thing to communicate with other adults. If you're going to include a bunch of junk to appeal to the tweens in the crowd, at the very least give us the option to turn it the bloody hell off.

well I didn't want to put a previous convo in there. The name bar isn't much bigger than before, maybe just half bigger, there's not much of a loss of space for messages. It's still not as bad as your exaggeration. Though if you're using a 5S/5SE you're going to notice the difference with the name bar.

As for predictive text, it's assisting in prediction primarily, not spell check (that's an added bonus), I use it a lot, it increases my speed when typing.

There's no comparison from the messages app to snapchat. You would have been better to use Facebook Messenger, as that's more relevant.

You sound like a very grumpy old man.

Adobe Apps printing cured - great! It means I can stop using Apple's primitive Preview App and go back to Acrobat X Pro. Also Photoshop CC 2015.5 not crashing on every second print. Well done Apple. Maybe someone does read the submissions from Feedback Assistant.

Hey, is copy and paste in texts broken for anyone else?

Update: finally got it to work once after about a dozen or so tries. Anyone having this issue or know of any fixes?

The name bar is literally twice as large as before, for no reason. Do you need a photo of your contact or their initials at the top of the message window? No. Can you turn it off at least? No.

Predictive text is a useful feature if you type with one finger like my elderly parents. If you can type out a text with your thumbs as fast on a phone as most people do a physical keyboard, it is an unnecessary annoyance. Thankfully it can be disabled, but this version has made doing so more complicated for no reason.

I'm sorry you disagree with my comparison, but it is still apt. Snapchat's UI is a cluttered mess full of widgets and stickers, all lacking any feeling of intuitiveness. Messenger, on the other hand, is still a very clean simple interface with clearly laid out icons that are only relevant if you use them. Otherwise they stay out of the way functionally and visually. I'd rather iMessage copy that, frankly, if they were going to crib from anyone.

As for your completely unnecessary ad hominem attack at the end, you sound like an arrogant judgmental jerk. Cheers

No, it is not literally twice the size. It's only 50% bigger. Again you're exaggerating.

You're calling me an arrogant judgemental jerk, that's pot calling kettle black when you look at your own posts, especially what you say about predictive text.

My point still stands, you can't use Snapchat as a comparison, it's a photo app, not a messenger app.

Way to amp up the dramatics by saying I attacked you, overboard much...

I'm experiencing more crashing with this beta. We've probably got 2 more beta versions to come since they come out with one every two weeks.

Does imessage app store and photos worlks Ok on iphone 6? Or is it a dedicated feature of the 3D force touch?

This will probably go unanswered but has anyone installed this on an iPad mini Retina (1st gen retina).

What's the performance like? Thanks to anyone who reads this!

Edit: there's a 9.3.4 beta now? Guess I'll wait. Heh.

9.3.4 is security patch

I was thinking of putting the third beta of iOS 10 on my iPhone 6 Plus. Any views on its stability at this stage? I assume is is getting fairly stable now?
