Isn't it ironic that the people with lots of downrates on this thread are the people that support the negative criticism directed at Apple through the Samsung ads. "Siri is useless" bla bla bla

I use Siri all the time as well. Specially when driving and I get a text I can text back without ever looking at the phone. When I'm reading and need a definition just hold the home button and ask Siri.
When I'm makin pizza and need a timer it's 20 times faster just to tell her than to unlock the phone, open the app, click on timer then set it. Alarms.
O and btw Siri calls me "sexy" ;) lol

Cheesey.
'Where are we?' ...fail
'How big is the grand canyon?'

How about get off the phone and enjoy your trip. GRRR. Advertising stinks.

Obviously in your first example they were lost, and the second example they were curious about something on the fly and wanted to ask rather than stare at a phone to type. I guess these things somehow went over your head. Next time perhaps Apple will include a kit to help you follow along with the complicated messages in the commercials.

Wait, you can ask Siri to refer to you in a special way, but you can't have her hm, IDK, CREATE A CONTACT?

Also, I'm surprised that Apple would use "God" in a commercial. Between that and the Santa ad, I get the sense that some religious people could be put off.

Well if you didn't know Apple is evil. Their logo represents the forbidden fruit with a bite of it, which represents sin. Referring to yourself as a God is satanic, Satanism is all about "being your own god". The very first Apple computer was sold for $666

Now that's creepy .. you don't want to have an affair with it.

Oh please. I'm one of those "religious people" and I'm nowhere near offended.

I do, however, hope that Apple's next step is to work on making Siri's speech synthesis sound less, well, synthesized. If we're heading into a future where we have real conversations with our phones, the awkward pronunciation is currently the biggest thing that breaks that suspension of disbelief.

Woah, these commercials make that iPhone look good.

Almost makes me want to buy another one.

First one is fine, second one, the Rock one, seems hokey.

Exactly my point. I like the first ad, The Rock God is just a bit unApple. Don't know why .. same music, similar concept, it's all about Siri .. but the second one .. it's a bit cheesy.

Siri is one of Apple's rare creations that you don't actually need. I hardly use Siri anymore. Mostly because it rarely understands what I tell it.

Same thing. I stopped using it as it rarely could get a complete sentence correct. Maybe it's my Boston accent

Shame I'd have to move to America to use most of these Siri functions. If I use it now, it's simply to show people Siri doesn't tell jokes. Ironic, because the situation is not funny.

When will they have it working in the UK? I almost feel cheated as these functions were some of the reasons I bought the phone on the day it released.

It's fascinating and clever how Apple teaches their users how to use Siri by simple Commercials. And you know what it works!

I also use Siri much more frequently, not for everything, but for example it's much easier to set an Alarm by telling the phone "Set an Alarm in 15 minutes" the moment you put the Pizza in the stove than configuring it manually.

Same for reminders... Sometimes I'm in my car and I think about something I should not forget when I'm at home, but surely will as soon as I arrive... no problem for Siri: "Remind me about taking my membership-card when I'm at home".

?

chill out, will you? It is a refreshing add wich does not insult any one...

I don't like the first commercial, but the second one is fabulous.
The first one sounds scripted, and you can tell that it is. Most people that I know who use Siri on a regular basis sound more like Rock God guy.

Does anyone who has an iPhone 4S even use Siri any more?

You seem to not have Siri. Envious a bit?

----------

The rock god ad is creepy. Woulda been better if SIRI said, "Get a life, chumpy."

Do you have a teen aged boy at home?

Didn't think so. That is why you do not get it...

----------

Weak and being samsunged daily. That does NOT make me feel good to say, but somebody at Apple better get into a commercials 101 class and get back to the cool spots and catchy bits. These soft and gooey approaches are giving me gas.

Then go to the #%^#}{\|<>€*++£¥€>~\_[. bathroom... And release that gas too while you are at it....

I like the " Rock God " ad.....in my line of work people are often asking about the whole iPhone v Android, and which is best debate.

I try to remain non partisan, but it's kind of hard when I have Apple and only pple products. These Ads target the usual demographic though....Here's one for evryone.....Are Apple missing a trick by targeting the twenty and thirty something client base?

I'm in my fifties, and am sometimes met with the comment " that's more of a young persons phone isn't it?"
