Nice. So nearly 30% faster, higher resolution screen AND better battery life :)

BTW, here's a nice bit from that link for those who would miss it otherwise

The GT330M supports the hardware decoding of HD videos using the integrated PureVideo HD engine. The integrated VP4 video processor is able to fully decode H.264, VC-1, MPEG-2, and MPEG-4 ASP (e.g., DivX, xVID). Hardware decoding of MPEG-1 encoded videos is not supported, but this can be handled by every CPU without high load. In conjunction with an Core i5-520M, the GT 330M decoded H.264 with 1-6%, VC1 in 5-10%, and WMV with 3-9% CPU load.

Which probably means it can do Flash at only 95% :D

I haven't seen anybody complain for real yet, so I'm going to do it:

WHERE THE F*CK IS THE MACBOOK AIR UPDATE???

There you go.

(No, honestly, I'm pissed... do you guys think they're going to stop it?)

Lets be honest, most people buying the 13" MBP aren't going to use the power anyway. I'm not saying you won't but a lot would never. It's mostly highschool kids and college students using them for web browsing and word processing.

Not true. I use my 13" for CS4 (and soon CS5), Logic Pro / MainStage, and in a pinch Aperture ("pinch" only from the display not being the best).

And, there are tens, maybe hundreds like me out there !!!

Benchmarking will be interesting - there seems to be some serious battery savings from the intelligent GPU swapping.

Inertial scrolling - to come? Or a feature differentiator for new MBP only?

15 MBP - finally not a crap resolution - was always stuck with a bad deal in teh previous MBP generation.

So 20 or more percent faster in cases, with MUCH better battery life when using the higher end GPU. Comparing being on 9600 vs the new MBP i'd imagine, with teh 30% battery saving, we'll see big differences.

Have they changed the type of screen for the MBP, apart from change the 15 MBP's resolution?

GT330!

OMFG >_<

And not only that this graphics card is pile of crap today it will be even bigger pile of crap later down the line since MBP wont be updated for at least another 12 months...

Hezuz!

You have got to be kidding. Waiting for months for this ****** update just wasn't worth it. I can tell you numerous things right now that they could have improved upon, but I'll skip that since 99% of the readers of the forums probably think the same us me :)

You could have bought a month ago and really gotten screwed. I learned a long time ago: I will NEVER win the buying technology game. You buy it, they either drop the price or up the specs for the same price.

People want the world for specs, but then they'd complain about shorter battery life or whatever other wild hair gets up their arse.

I look at the 13" for what it is. I bought my wife one last year when they came out. She uses it for data entry at work, web, pages, numbers, nothing much more. At first she didn't even want to touch a mac, now if I "borrow it" to surf the web she gets all bent out of shape about me touching her computer..... She's happy = I'm happy. Well worth the 1199.

Well, I'm buying the 15 now!! I wanted the 13 but I want more than a C2D. And they'll probably give it an i5 in the next update anyway lol

Would Love to have the newest but...

I bought the 2.53 late June 10 MBP 13" so I'm still good. I have been wanting to upgrade to the 15" for the real estate.

Oh yea I'm glad that Apple is not following BluRay. One ends up buy hundreds of disc just to be foiled when the new "standard" arrives. Go Digital!

Just bought an i7 15" HD-Res Macbook Pro......O_O

..I'm kinda overwhelmed. Never spend that much money upfront in my entire life......

I've been waiting since October for this. I can safely say I am very happy with the update and my purchase. This will be my first ever portable computer, I've only used desktops til now. Can't wait.

Core i7

Agreed, but this is Apple.

I am surprised there are SO MANY people

NOT READING THE SPECS!

There is no i3 or i5 in the 13" Macbook Pros, and there is NO i7 in the 17" model.

People have been waiting so long that they aren't even bother reading the specs before they are buying.

Core i7 are available for both 15" and 17" Macbook Pros. The difference is that the Core i7 are BTO optional on 17" MBPs whereas is a standard model option for 15" MBPs.

so did they upgrade the screen resolutions or are they the same for the 13 an 15" models?

Good job Apple + $30 off Mobile me with purchase

Nice work. Love the BTO options. 15" i7 here I come.
