Apple Releases Updated MagSafe Charger Firmware

I had version 186 and updated to 255. I assumed it was new but it turns out it was released in Feb, my bad.
Yeah, not sure if the new one should be 256, or the same as the regular magsafe, 258.
Looks like 255 is the most current:
My Duo says 256.0.0.0.
Weird, I would have assumed my Duo's firmware would have updated to the most recent version. Maybe (unlike software updates) they have to go in order.
...Which appears to be the latest for the Duo.
But my regular MagSafe still won't update, for hours now.
Updated my MagSafe charger. Now the noise cancellation on my AirPods no longer works. Thanks, Steve Jobs!
Interesting. I have two Duo chargers.
One shows firmware 186.0.0.0 and the other shows 0.0.2.56

In the fall of 2022, firmware 255 was released, but I had 247 installed, it seems that magsafe is not updated via iPhone. Connected to the iPad, updated to 258 in 2 minutes.
Never know what these firmware updates do.
You can try plugging into a USB-C-equipped iPad as well. Good luck to you, don’t worry about it otherwise.
The fact that there's no way to manually initiate a firmware update is frustrating. I realize these updates likely do little-to-nothing, but who knows since Apple is so secretive about it.

Still on 247. Plugged it into my Mac for two hours. Still 247. Two hours on the iPhone with Wi-Fi. Still 247. Sigh
They really need to release a longer version of this cable.
since i still have a macbook pro without usb c, will it update with an usb adapter? need to test that. still in 247 and left it plugged to a power source and iphone for hours with wifi and bluetooth on and nothing
I have 2 Mag safe chargers. both 255.0.0.0 I don't use a Mac mine don't problems update. I need to wait to update both. But my sister has 13 Promax and her mag safe charger is still at 247 and it's connected to a Mac.
Could be to support different power profiles from charging bricks, that kind of thing
We have two MagSafe chargers. iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 13 Pro were on them the whole night and neither updated.
I don't care really but I am somewhat intrigued by how - and if - those things do update without plugging them into a Mac.

I literarily just tried to place my AW somehow on the Magsafe charger to see if it charges and if I missed something 😂
