This is strange.... Updated watch and I can see the update as the faces now include the time lapse photos, etc, however, when checking on the phone under "software update" appears as "software up to date version 1.0.1"???? What's going on?

I see many people having this issue
A hard reset of the iPhone fixed that for me.

Downloading in the uk with 78meg download speeds and stated two hours to download!! It took an hour and 20 mins. Verfiying took just 5 mins and then installing took 20 mins. All done and hassle free :)

The "Utility Face" and "Mickey" also show the Upcoming Evens on the bottom of the face, if you setup the complication to show it.

Thanks! Hadn't noticed that, much nicer now :) Clever use of space too depending upon what's written on the calendar. Time travel plus the calendar on the bottom is a significant improvement to me.

We took into careful consideration, the amount of time it took for the update to download, so our customers can fully appreciate their Apple Watch, and know what it is like to be without it. This sense of separation from something you hold so dear to your heart truly enhances ones ability to appreciate the very existence of that object. We worked very hard to calculate the exact time it took for a human being to feel separated from the Apple Watch and that's the reason why we unapologetically delayed the update. We have reduced the margin of error to plus or minus 50 milliseconds, to deliver the most memorable experience our customers can feel from updating their software.

I have the same question. I can't find the screen pictured on Apple's website anywhere…

Maybe that screen is for first time setup/pairing with an iPhone? If you go to the Watch App, then click on Apple Watch at the top of the Watch App it has an option to "Mark as Missing." Is that the same feature? I know as soon as the update finished it mentioned Activation Lock was a new feature of 2.0, but didn't have me activate it.

Dark Sky complication is just a shortcut icon?

I was hoping for something like [current temp] + ([minutes to rainfall start/stop] or [tiny graphic showing rainfall trend like the bar chart]).

Any graphical info is always also a shortcut to the main app.

But just a shortcut is not a complication.

It needs to be on the charger too.
Maybe this has been answered, but what if it's not on a charger? Will it just not install? I started the download, it says "downloading to watch," and "about an hour remaining," but didn't notice that it had to be on the charger (which mine is not…)

For those having issues with Dark Sky. At first it kept saying it couldn't determine my location. It was actually set to use my location always. Turned that to 'while using' then back to always. Then pulled up dark sky on watch successfully.

Thanks for that tip . . . almost done with installation. One of the first things I'll check . . . need my Dark Sky.

mine has taken 4 hours mostly just for verification. I'm like WTF!
Mentioned several times up thread - - if it gets stuck on verify, then restart watch (and iphone) and the verify step wraps up quickly and the actual watch install starts.

Right. It just won't install until you put it on the charger. It will download, though.

I have about 2 hours remaining on a pretty fast connection.

You > Your ISP > The Internet > Apple's ISP > Apple

As you can see, your connection to the Internet is just part of the equation. It doesn't matter how fast your connection is if the servers that you're connecting to are not dishing out the data.

EDIT: To be fair, There's probably no "Apple ISP"... their data centres should have direct links to the internet, but there's probably still some routing and throttling in place to handle everyone trying to download at the same time.

Full download and update took about 80 minutes. Other than the time, everything went smooth.
Initially mu phone did say "update complete, software version 1.0.1". A switch to the watchapp home screen and back showed the update as being version 2.0.

Out of millions of Apple users, there's bound to be update glitches, but I can honestly say in 28 years of installing OS upgrades and updates to Macs and iOS devices, I've never had a problem.

Now, to see what watchOS2 brings to the table!

Freaking brilliant. Love it!

Mine has been on verifying for about 10 minutes and the gear is not spinning on the little apple watch icon. Getting a little nervous o_O

Did it work eventually? Mine keeps going into verify, and just sits there (seems like forever)

Nevermind, just read in the post above, that best solution is to Restart iPhone and Apple Watch and try again.

No 8.4 support and forcing to have iOS 9?

That's kind of a bummer... I have no plans to go to iOS 9 until I pick up a 6s, and who knows when that'll be (I don't live in a launch day country :( )

Hopefully someone figures out a way.
