Not having battery drain or unlock my Mac issues, but updating to see if it helps with the S3 reboot issue. I hope things don't get worse (like adding the battery drain and/or unlock my Mac problems to the reboot problem). 😮

I hope this fixes the Series 3 rebooting issue as well. Though, I did find a way to stop it from rebooting... it seems to be related to displaying the location name in the weather complication. Once I moved to a watch face that didn't have the location name it stopped rebooting.

Apple today released watchOS 7.0.2, the second update to the watchOS 7 operating system that came out in September. watchOS 7.0.2 comes more than two weeks after the release of watchOS 7.0.1, a bug fix update.

applewatchse.jpg

‌‌watchOS 7.0.2‌‌ can be downloaded for free through the dedicated Apple Watch app on the iPhone by going to General > Software Update. To install the new software, the Apple Watch needs to have at least 50 percent battery, it needs to be placed on a charger, and it needs to be in range of the ‌‌iPhone‌‌.

According to Apple's release notes, watchOS 7.0.2 addresses a bug that could cause the battery in the Apple Watch to drain more quickly, which has been a persistent complaint since watchOS 7 was released. For more on everything that's new in watchOS 7, make sure to check out our watchOS 7 roundup.

It seems when Apple moves to the next major watchOS there’s a battery drain issue.

Well my Series 4 40 mm just dropped 6% in 30 minutes on the new update. o_O
In 4 hours it has dropped from 100% to 74%. This is ridiculous. My watch is worse than it was before the update, not better. I guess I’m going to have to unpair and repair but I’ll wait untill tomorrow to do that. What a bummer.

Still on 100% on my S5 44mm after 55min, and that's with a Watch Face with a Heart Rate infograph in the middle and a Sound Levels complication in the bottom... But I turned off Cellular, Wi-Fi, Always On Display and Background App Refresh.

EDIT: it took 1h05min to drop to 99%.

EDIT2: Still on 99% after 1h30min.

EDIT3: 97% after 2h20min.

LAST EDIT: 95% after 3h.
Can u edit til 0% pls

I had this issue and tried to solve it with a L2  tech but ended up stalled. I had to restore my iPhone as new to fix it. A backup would not work.
Wow, I‘ll have to think about doing that. Maybe if 14.1 doesn’t fix it I’ll do the setup as new.

Watch OS and iOS needs phone call recording. When I am on a call the Watch can have a button on the screen to start call recording right away. Call recording apps are wanting too much for monthly fee and I don't trust my calls going to their servers for processing.

Apple is about security. Recorded phone calls going to third party servers is not "secure".

I'm tired of watchOS updates on my Series 3. I can't get enough space cleared to even install them, because of files behind the scenes I can't touch, so I have to reset it, install the update, and then restore. This also requires me to set up my Wallet cards again.

This happens to me all the time. Updates are near impossible. Guess I should’ve got the cellular version, which has double the storage FYI.

All you guys with watch (especially series 3) restarting, battery issues and health issues: Un-pair and re-pair solved these issues for me.

Downloading now - Hoping this fixes the issue of not being able to use my watch to unlock my MacBook. Also an issue with Microsoft Authenticator not being able to communicate with the watch. Both started after installing 7.0.1,

I'll update with my findings after my installation completes.

EDIT - Neither problem fixed.
Try this..

Unpair watch, log iPhone out of iCloud, log back into iCloud, pair watch..

fixed it for me..

Haven't had a battery drain issue so far on my Series 6. The only issue I have is a periodic issue where the screen is zoomed all the way in where only 1 number is shown. Someone suggested tapping the screen twice, but that didn't work. If I press the crown it goes back to normal, but as soon as I let go of the crown it zooms back out. The only fix so far is to restart the watch. The restart seems to take a longer than usual time, but that could just be me being impatient because this zoom out happens whenever it feels. Doesn't happen that much maybe once or twice a week. Hopefully it will be fixed with this update.

Same things happens to me (S6) with the zoom bug. It so annoying! And also sometimes if I swipe down /up to see the notifications/ control center nothing happens... 😡

I tryed everything with the swipe up/down bug but only the restart seems to bring things to normal.

No fix for the fitness app not showing my outside run on the map?
Did the update this morning.
Back from a 10k run and still no GPS map showing.
It does show statistics and even the splits look plausible.
Is this done with GPS? So data is actually in existence? But the bug is drawing the map?

No matter. Looks like a bad update to me. Apple needs to do some homework!

My Series 6 Battery Health (Max Capacity) dropped to 99%.

Anyone else with a Series 6 had your Max Capacity drop from 100%?

I have the same problem, but found that I need to disconnect and reconnect to the wifi on the Mac.
Then unlocking works...
If you haven't tried this, give it a shot :)...

It's a very small sample size of 1, but installed the update before bed last night and 7 hours of sleep tracking used 9% battery dropping from 100% to 91% on my series 5. Previously sleep tracking for the same amount of time was using around 13% so it does look like there could be some improvement. 🤞
