Hmm.. causes pain? The keys are bigger, and they make a sound when clicked. The trackpad is to large ? you either click it or you don't, you can't just tap it and it click something, it needs to be intentional. Have you had a chance to actually use it yet?

Yes, for quite a bit. The super-short key travel and solid-wall impact at end of travel hurts my hands. I have sorta frail hands, there's a reason I mostly use fancy ergonomic keyboards, but I could type for hours on the old MBP keyboards.

And yes, I know how the trackpad is supposed to work.

I can put the mouse over a thing, very carefully depress the corner where the clicking mechanism is, and have nothing happen. Sometimes. Sometimes it works. Who knows.

Maybe you should read the technical specifications...

Anyways, I don't care anymore. I ordered a refurbished model a few moments ago and just returned the new one to my local Apple store. In fact, I just saved $86.6, and now Apple had to pay for express shipping from China and now they have to sell my new unit as a refurbished because I opened it. Suck it Apple.

You should read what you are buying, do you have the guts to show us the product page you placed your order or not?

However you were not buying the mid 2015 version...so your support page is not for what you purchased.

What are you talking about? There is only one 2015 version?

And how would I have know that it was no longer an option (how would I know that it was even optional in the first place?) if I had never ordered one before this one? It was never officially disclosed that it was removed. All the specs I've read online said the 2.8 GHz 16GB 1TB model came by default with the M370X.

I understand where you are coming from but you can’t expect any companies to state what’s removed. Companies would only say what’s in their product and it’s consumers’ responsibility on what’s included (i.e. spec). What you read online is only a reference. What matters is in the official website!

Back before the 2016 version was released, you could customize the mid 2015 version to how you like with or without dGPU. Now with the 2016 version out they are only offering the low end of the 2015 version. The one without the dGPU to fill that $2000 price point. The spec sheet that you pulled was of the mid 2015 macbook pro pre November 2016 update so indeed it's not wrong but it's no longer an option to purchase.

Had you paid more attention to what you were purchasing you would have seen that it only comes with the iris pro.

Again, those are the specs of the 2015 macbook pro pre november 2016 update. Those options are no longer available with the "new" macbook pro out on the apple store.

Page you ordered from...that is the only place it counts. And finding old pictures of a store model as well as old support documents does not back up your case. If the page you ordered from had the specs on it, you would have shared that...so going hunting down old documents or pictures for a version of the machine you did not purchase, does not show you are right.

I didn't try to order one then, I ordered one now. How would I know that it was once the default, then it became an option, and now it's not even offered? How would I know that it was no longer an option today if I never order one before in the past? I don't have precognition. This would be like GM releasing a car with a V6 engine and then silently replacing it with a V4 without officially telling the buyer they no longer offer the V6. In my book this would very underhanded.

That's not just a random picture I found on the Internet. I literally took that picture at the Apple store about an hour ago! The Apple employee is the one that showed it too me because she was just as confused about the switch as I was.

Yeah, "Apple is still showing the specs as having the dGPU" is definitely a reasonable indicator that Apple is communicating to people that the dGPU is an option.

Someone is welcome to buy mine if they want, excellent shape. Just put it on CL. Maxed out Mid-15.

You don’t need to know when it was default then became an option and now not offered. What it matters is when the spec. sheet when you ordered it.

Shouldn’t the buyer not look at the spec sheet when he/she buys it? Or GM needs to hold an event and publish it on every newspaper, site, etc. to let everyone knows? Let me know who does it!

If you can proof the picture is taken an hour ago then the Apple store is at fault.

It tops out at $2899 so I doubt it.

But, if you did, then I would say you should have a discussion with that particular store. Did you order from the store? Or did you order online? If you ordered from that store, and can show them their machines in store say it, and you paid that price, then you have a case, if you ordered online then you have no case, because you did not pay attention to the specs.

Not to be that guy, but a v4 isn't really in mass production cars , that would be an inline 4 :)

But I think what everyone is saying... before you order it tells you what it has. As you stated you never ordered one before so how would you know? Solid question , it literally tells you before you order , while you order, and of course... after you order under "specifications" . To assume is to be wrong , always. Sorry you got one and it wasn't what you wanted though, lesson learned for next time?

First thing I noticed when I was comparing the new MBP to the old 2015 ON APPLES WEBSITE, the lack of a dgpu on the "2015" now.

Took about 2 minutes to figure that out.. and honestly at the time (day after the announcement) I was reading in articles that Apple removed the dgpu from the "old" 2015 they are selling now.

Realized right away I had to either find a 2015 in a store, or go ahead and order the new one.

You guys do understand apple stills sells the mid 2015 MX370 models right? its why they are advertised in the store until stock runs out - online the " new " one was never advertised as having the AMD chips

so did you buy it from the store or did you order it online? And what did you pay?

Yeah. Unfortunately, I really do want the discrete graphics... AND I want MacOS.

Looks like this has ceased to be an option.

Look for a refurb model with those specs. Apple does a terrible job with discrete gpus. They always fail, so I wouldn't really trust them to work as intended.

Never had one fail, so no they do not always fail...not saying they have not ever failed for others.
