I don't get it. You say you but it online in a store an you had a discount as an IBM employee but you used your student discount. If the computer isn't what you want just return it

The base model 2015 15" MacBook Pro never had a dGPU. Apple did sell two higher stock configurations which did include a dGPU. When they released the 2016 MBP, they discontinued the two high end models and kept only the entry-level 15" without dGPU at $1999. You can upgrade the processor and storage using BTO options, but it's still an upgraded version of the base model. Paying to upgrade the processor to a 2.8 doesn't magically add a dGPU.

Apple didn't remove the graphics card. They just stopped selling the models that came with it, leaving only the model that does not have it. This is all plainly clear by reading the tech spec page on the store, as well as during the actual ordering process.

How the **** am I suppose to know that not all models of the 2.8 GHz have the M370X? Seriously, how the **** am I suppose to know? Everything I read said that the 2.8 GHz ALWAYS includes the M370X. No where on Apple's site does it tell you that the M370X does not come with this model anymore. They just completely removed all traces to it on the site, so when I ordered the 2.8 GHz I just tacitly assumed it came with the M370X even though they didn't explicitly mention it. I had no ****ing idea it was an optional component. Apple clearly did not make this clear, as even a computer engineer with 20 years of experience got confused by this. This is a material misrepresentation in my book.

How did I not do my research? Are you ****ing kidding me? I made a whole ****ing spreadsheet with even z-score indexed values for **** sake...

This is fraud, and I can't believe you are defending them.

It's definitely not fraud ffs.

I like the way you keep saying "how was I supposed to know it doesn't come with it, I've never bought one before" - well that would beg the question how did you assume it WOULD come with one?

Any it obviously does show you on Apples site that it doesn't' come with it anymore as it's not listed in the specifications - the end. You were wrong.

Just return the computer and stop being so dramatic. And if you're hellbent on a 2015 with dgpu, there is refurbished, eBay, and a number of authorized apple resellers that can probably still sell you a new one.

It was silly to sell a macbook with 1.5gb iris pro AND 2gb amd, only 1 can be used at a time. Just use the iris pro. I have the 2015 with amd, it is almost as weak as the iris pro. Apple should only put iris pro in all the macbooks and also come out with an external gpu. They won't do it but I would buy it.

Your's came with 2.2GHz by default. That's the low end model with iGPU. It's always been like this. BTO upgrades apply to the model, don't change it. It's just a baseless assumption.

That's how Apple's and everyone else's configurators have been working since forever.

So saying that someone removed dGPU from a model that never had it before is simply incorrect.

And you weren't supposed to know that I guess, all you have to do is read the specs of an EXACT product you're buying without making assumptions that make sense only to you.

P.S. If you read somewhere that 2.8GHz always comes with M370X, then it's wrong. The correct way to say it "out of three base models, the one that came with 2.8GHz CPU as a minimum / default options also had M370X." See the difference? you could have always BTOed the base model from 2.2 to 2.8 and it won't automatically make it a different model

Wait what?

They changed the specs on the old models now?

There is a touch bar version and non-touch bar version. The non-touch bar version uses the same chassis and processors as the 2015. There is no BTO option to upgrade to a dGPU. This is clearly stated in the specs and buy pages.

Nothing is "missing". The OP did not read the specs.

I just got my new 2015 MBP 15 inch 2.8GHz 16GB 1TB direct from the factory in China and it's missing the AMD Radeon M370X !!!!!!!!!!

Part No. Z0RF00004
Family ID: Z0RF

**** you Tim. **** you you ****ing *******.

Sounds like a Good Way to get a Major Upgrade.

#1. Buy 2015 MBP with M370X either used or refurbished
#2. Get Apple care
#3. If anything happens and the Laptop unfortunately must be replaced they CAN NOT give you a model Without a dedicated GPU or a M370X and in 2 years or less they won't have any.
#4. Only option is an Upgrade to a 2016 Touchbar MBP with dedicated GPU. That's a Major Upgrade in your favor.

This is not a wild theory, Samsung once tried to replace my defective TV with a newer model but missing key Specs, their only option was to Give me a newer Model many levels above which matched my older models Specs. Same issue happened with an Old Dell Studio XPS laptop.

Must investigate this further.
