I wish we could have had a full season ready to go at launch of these two shows, the drip-feed of content is an interesting choice.
I imagine it is to keep people subscribed. If you could binge everything in 30 days, you'd have no reason to continue your subscription until the next year's season dropped.
Netflix could afford to drop a whole season of their original content because they had a huge back catalog to keep people subscribed.
It's so annoying when they announce or gets leaked that their going to be a sequel when the show hasn't even been out that long. It does spoil it.
I am going to assume it is the production schedules and contracts. I would imagine all the creative staff and talent have contracts that require they be renewed by certain dates or they become "free agents". So even though the first episodes are now releasing, it may very well have been a year or longer since productions started so the contract "go / no-go" dates are coming up.
And Hollywood leaks like a sieve so there would be no way for Apple to keep it quiet, so might as well announce it themselves.
When Disney+ launches next week, AppleTV+ will be forgotten like a bad ex. 😂
I have three years of Disney+ locked in via the D23 offer, but I intend to keep Apple TV+ because Disney+ does not have "For All Mankind".
