And now I want an apology from those that denied that these "budget" phones weren't selling well.
I told you. Retailers don't discount on things selling well.
(Slams door)
We want an apology from you once we get the official figures!

We're not afraid of color, but most men have completely different color preferences than all the teenage girls the 5C is marketed towards.
I don't want bright, shiny, sparkly, trendy, neon colors that scream-out to the world, "Hey, look at me! I really want your attention so you will notice how "cool" I am!"
In my opinion, It's really narcissistic, much like the majority of American women/girls now.

As a car guy you ought to know all about resale value. 5c is last years phone in a new body.
That's it.
I also prefer the black or gray. Don't know if that makes me more "grown-up" but I have a hard time believing that people would choose the 5C over the 5S if it had a black or gray version. I do prefer it over the pastels-as you do-but I still would want the A7, Fingerprint Sensor and improved camera in the 5S.
Make a black one and double your sales by targeting guys as well as teen girls...
No. A "black market" is an illegal market.
The official price of iPhone 5c in China is 4448 Yuan ($726). But there is a thriving grey market over there, with iPhones bought in the U.S, Europe and Hong-Kong, illegally smuggled into the country.
Apple is manufacturing only 5c's right now, but not 5s's. So yeah, they need to calm that down.
For every 5s produced, there are 6 times more 5c's produced.
Why are you guys so afraid of color?![]()
I have a bumper case for that.
BTW, Why do you defend the 5c option so much?
So there's something wrong with me because I'm a 28 year old straight guy with a yellow phone?
I assume you mean 5s...
But why are you saying this like it's some sort of shock? This is the way Apple has done business for 3 or 4 years now. They've always sold "last year's phone" for $100 less than the new model.
You're acting like it some sort of shocking revelation.
This isn't last years phone. It's a new model. I'm just not down with it having the same internals as my 5 but just $100 less than the 5s with the latest and greatest. Useful or not, $100 more for the latest and greatest makes sense if one intends to sell it one day.
According to the article in question:
A market that sells items illegally smuggled into the country seems illegal to me. And that fits the definition of "black market" for you.
A grey market (also spelled gray market), or parallel market,[1] is the trade of a commodity through distribution channels which, while legal, are unofficial, unauthorized, or unintended by the original manufacturer. The most common type of grey market is the sale of imported goods (brought by small import companies or individuals not authorized by the manufacturer) which would otherwise be more expensive in the country they are being imported to. An example is drugs being imported into nearby wealthier nations where the drug manufacturer charges a higher price for a similar or equivalent product.
So cutting back to 150,000 per day is only 4.5 million per month. At $550 each that means revenue per quarter on this one item is only about $7.4 billion.
Yeah, that sucks.![]()

I don't know who in their right mind would by a 5C when it's only $100 cheaper than a 5S. Given the difference in performance/features the 5C is really poor value.
Because I would venture to guess that the majority of opinion against the phone comes from individuals who either:
a) Have never seen or held an iPhone 5c in their life.
b) Are so mental that they somehow feel that the mere existence of the 5c devalues the iPhone brand.
c) Are even more mental to the point where they feel like anyone who decided to purchase an 5c because they preferred it must themselves be mental, because "Why would you want the cheap, plastic, year-old phone? What's wrong with you?"
the 5c will be $0 with contract when the holiday season approaches. Mark my words.
