Stop ruining my morning with dream phone descriptions. ?
?
Yes the same percentage of users have bulky otter box cases with exposed TouchID for 6-to-SE2 so why cannot the same cases be adjusted for TouchID on sleep/wake buttons ? HmmmYou know that was never ever ever going to happen. What you're describing is no longer an SE, it's a brand new thing.
I don't think we'll ever see Touch ID on the sleep/wake button for an iPhone. Such a high percentage of users put a case on their phone, and each case probably affects the quality of the contact between finger and sensor, that I just don't see that happening.

Customers wanting a "cheap" iPhone will rarely care about 5G, often not even have a price plan for that. And neither will they care for fancy yet not cheap Qi charging. The biggest reason for the SE3, is better battery life, 5G (so you have a backup network, since 3G is fading fast), having physical buttons, and Qi
While partially true, the real culprit is the fact that many people are using their phones as their primary Internet connectivity device. That's why Apple decided (if the rumors are true!) to roll out an iPhone 14 Max model with a 6.7" touchscreen. The target market for this us being crushed by inflation. The mini is perfect for low to moderate users. Out all day taking photos and videos, and IG, and maps, and…. Yeah no. Even the 13mini improved SOT of about +\- 6 hours, it’s not a power/work horse.LOL the three people I know who bought a 12 mini hated it and have to carry a power bank around all the time.
Next time they aren't buying a mini...
Right. They will just forget about making a smaller cheaper phone with powerful insides and focus on the phones making a much larger profit. As an Apple user, I hope this wakes up the powers that be that assist in the design of these devices. Consumers are growing tired of the same designs being presented in front of them as “upgrades”. Hence the reason I didn’t upgrade this year from the 12 Pro Max to the 13 Pro Max.
They should lower the price to $397. There is are psychological barriers a certain price points and I believe $400 may be one for their target audience for this phone in the current marketplace.I understand that people tend to point to one reason, but the appeal of the SE line has always been multi-faceted. It's not just about a smaller iPhone. The iPhone 12 Mini is slightly smaller than the SE. So it's not JUST a smaller phone.
Another reason for interest in the SE is the older design aesthetics in comparison to the leading edge models. As difficult as it might be to believe, that there ARE people out there that actually prefer those older designs.
And then there's the price. The current MSRP of $429 makes it very attractive for those who want to enter (or remain in) the iPhone ecosystem.
If demand for the SE is less than expected (I don't necessarily believe that), there could be other factors other than the SE not being appealing in and of itself. Things like the uncertainty in the economy, anticipation of newer iPhone models, etc.
I disagree. My wife loves that size and the TouchIDAs an Apple user, I hope this wakes up the powers that be that assist in the design of these devices. Paid mine $120 in stellar condition a few days ago.The A15 is used by a 1% of the SE buyers. A12 is more than enough for a 2016 phone like the SE and 150$ would be a fair enough price for such a unit.
Don’t we get these posts with every iPhone release?
As the year goes on, demand will pick up especially for birthdays, graduations, back to school, and the holidays. With $50+ price cuts by 3rd party sellers later in the year, and even, perhaps, fall cuts by Apple (back to $399), sales will boom even more!
Wrong, the dimensions of the device are what make a phone small not the screen size. The SE 2nd & 3rd gen are closer in size to the standard 12/13 than the mini.
I actually ordered two - one for my wife, one for me. Having not updated since our iPhone 7+s, I thought it time for an upgrade. To say I was put off by the phone is an understatement. I opened the box, saw what it was, and didn't even take the plastic screen protector off. I showed my wife and she said she wouldn't have it. I sent them both back.
We're both in our 50s and I wouldn't recommend this to anyone in their 40s who has to wear glasses for reading. This isn't a grandparents' phone. This is a phone for a child who needs to let mom or dad know they either made it to school or home from wherever...
I left MS 10 years ago and despise the Android OS (because I'm used to iOS?) but if Apple doesn't get out of politics and actually start innovating again, I'm going to have to rethink my choices.
Today I learned the iPhone 6 was released in the spring of 2012 rather than the fall of 2014. Seems wikipedia and a bunch of other sites are going to need updating.Maybe that ten year old design doesn't cut it anymore when every cheap China device looks way more modern and costs a fraction of the price.
Well said. Some people forget that there are those who do not consider a smartphone being the centre of the universe. For proper photography I have my Nikon, for newspaper reading I have my iPad, for web browsing I have some wonderful macs, for listening to music I have my hifi stereo system, for movies I have my large TV. And for content creation... I couldn't even survive the first 2 minutes doing that on a tiny phone screen, so many compromises on all ends. The mini is perfect for low to moderate users. Definitely not a media consumption or Content Creator’s tool.

Yeah, I have different size phones and while I like the smaller size phone like the Pixel 4a which is a 5.9" screen. I typically carry a larger Pixel like the Pixel 4a 5G or the Pixel 6. My eyesight at 63 is pretty poor and I hate wearing bifocals so with a larger screen I can see the text better on a bigger screen. But my preference is definitely a smaller phone.Well said. Hence I'm perfectly happy with an iPhone mini.
