Just get an iPad mini and be done with it!

I don't understand why people keep saying this. A 7.9 tablet is a huge different from 4.7-5.0 inch phone. The iPad mini doesn't fit in your pocket while a 4.7" phone does. The mini doesn't do voice call, etc. The list goes on. Some people (like me) just prefer a slightly bigger phone that run iOS. What's wrong with that?

Lets wait and see who laughs the last.........bet this is just one of the thousand rumors never coming through.

Yeah, we'll see! :) Personally I don't think this particular rumor will come true. Two new sizes + curved glass just doesn't sound too likely. But - I'm positive there'll be a larger screen iPhone at some point.

I still don't understand the need for huge screens on a phone. Portability is more important to me and truly every time I see someone holding the SG Note, I laugh at the ridiculously huge phone covering 80% of his/her face.

I completely agree. I want my smartphone to be usable with one hand. Then again, I do not watch movies on it...I watch movies on my 65" TV.

I just hope there will finally be some options for screen size with the coming models. Nobody can argue the fact that many people do in fact want a larger screen.

I'd likely go for the 4.7" design. Curvature might help Apple keep the screen optimized for one-handed use while increasing the size. One question is whether they will go with Samsung, LG, or both.

OMG!

How dare they try to even suggest changing the iPhone's screen size?

The iPhone screen size is dictated and fixed by GOD from above.

No one can change it.

Tim Cook should continue to spend his time defending the iPhone's screen size according to this rule fixed by God.

I'm still convinced that 4" is the ideal screen size because this is what Apple told us before (iPhone 5 ad). I'll think otherwise only once Apple tells me to.

I guess one would keep repeating the same news of a bigger screen until it actually becomes true.

To me, 4 and 5 inch iPhones make sense.

People who like the smaller screen size will still be able to have it at the same specs of the 5 inch, yet people who may want a larger screen will be able to get that.

Curved like LG's and Samsungs's new devices or curved like the Nexus 5 and Nexus 4 where the glass goes to the edge?

Actually, I missed that since I do not watch commercials. I prefer a 4" screen because it fits comfortably in: (i) one hand, (ii) front pant pockets and (iii) suit pockets.

Two new models of a great phone, and (finally!) with a decent screen size too!!

Too bad I went over to Samsung already. :D

i have to admit the larger Samsung are allot nicer then my iPhone, but size does not always matter does it ladies?

Sadly i wish the iMacs had a special tilt touch screen, this would be mind blowing

As much as I like having a bigger screen on my iPhone, I don't want to carry around a bigger phone.

So what if I you have 65" tv. I use 120" projector screen but I still want a larger iphone. It's not for watching movies but for usability. Typing browsing touching is much easier on a reasonably large screen..

Just wait until the next iphone is actually larger and all of a sudden you're saying it's the most amazing ever.. So typical

A 4" display is big enough. I want to be able to use my phone with one hand and have it fit in my pockets. I really hope that apple releases an updated 4" phone next year too. I don't want a screen larger than 4", and I don't want to be buying last years model if I can avoid it.

This is ridiculous.

The bigger the better?
The higher the better?

Enough of this. get and iPad mini.
I want a phone I can use easily with one hand.

I thought 3.5" was perfect and big enough? 4" iphone is too much, no?

Actually, I will not. Read my other post above. I personally do not want a larger iPhone. Why is my post typical? You don't know me.

Bigger screen is inevitable. Resistance is futile. That's all.

I'm okay with a screen increase to a reasonable extent.

The Moto X has a pretty big screen and is nearly the same size as the iPhone 5 series.

It can be done

Like I said before, why not just combine the iPad, iPod & iPhone lines and offer sizes in something like 4", 7" and 10" (and maybe 13"). All sizes have 3 options: Wi-Fi only, Wi-fi + Data, and Wi-fi + Data + Voice. That way, people can have the size they want and the features they want.

Also, a lot of people out there seem to only care about specs. I've seen posts that are like "This product from another company has a faster clocked processor and twice RAM so I'm getting that one!" I understand it's not just the specs that affect the usability but how well the software takes advantage of it. However, I'd like to see Apple have higher specs than the competition. That way, Apple products would be that much faster than the competition.

If you actually read the article. I think of a curved screen much in the same way I think of the Nexus 4 curved screen. "Curved at the edges" but not the entire screen like the Galaxy Round, or the new LG phone. However if Apple makes a phablet, I'll be back on board ASAP!

They will need to make big changes to iOS and the way it scales on these bigger screens. If all they do is stretch the current screen to fit a bigger display (which is best for keeping current apps working on all iPhones with minimal effort) it might look bad on a 5.5" iPhone but perhaps people won't mind... I'm curious to see whether apple does actuall make a bigger iPhone. I think they will but I don't think there will be 2 new sizes. I imagine next year there will be a 5c will be the entry model, the 5s will be mid range and a new bigger iphone 6 with closer to 5" screen will be high end... We will see in about 10 months.
