With Apple you can do it with one hand, but with samsung you need two hands. same for typing -- you can reach all keys with one hand where that is not possible on a samsung.
You believe what you wish but here, Apple just needs to deem anything THE way and it is THE way thereafter (until Apple changes). 3.5" was the chosen size by Apple and thus was deemed the way. However, had they made it 4.7" or 5.5" and spun it, it would have been just as readily accepted and we might be oohing & ahhhing at rumors of an iPhone mini with an unbelievable 3.5" screen so that we can use it with only 1 hand right now.
The spin is the key, not the practicalities of the time. Look at iPad as the mirror here. Apple spun 9.7" as the one and only perfect size of a tablet. Smaller would be stupid (and boy was that spun by the cheerleaders in countless threads here) right up until Apple rolled out the iPad Mini and then it was cutting-edge great: "Shut up and take my money". Why wasn't the first one at the practical size of the mini instead of the maxi?
It's just spin. "We" suckle at Apple spin like a baby at the finest momma's milk. Apple could roll out a triangular phone screen in a star-shaped phone body and "we" would gush at the perfection of the new Apple Ninja Star phone.
Really? Their investors would disagree. Apple and Tim Cook have been pushing China hard the last few years. Growth in the US is pretty much leveled out. Without worldwide growth, they would be in trouble. That is why I don't believe this article at all.
If 32GB isn't the bottom end, then fail. 16GB needs to go.
What happened to getting more storage we go on like hard drives and everything else tech?
16GB has been the bottom end since 2007!
Ninja Star Phone sounds amazing! A combo phone/deadly weapon. Sign me up!![]()
That looks highly reputable!
Umm, 2012 when the iPhone 5 went up by £50? Used to be £499 now £549. Wouldn't be surprised if the 6 became £600.
Sure it's possible.
I would not be surprised one bit if Apple also implemented similar options.
So Apple is going to MAKE me get a larger phone whether I want it or not?
That's just great.

If your thumb won't reach on a Samsung, you can simply turn on various one-handed options... like making the keyboard thinner and on whatever side you're working your thumb with.

Then the keys become smaller, it's not a good solution at all.

"Growth" is not the same as market share. You originally stated market share.
Steve Ballmer said:500? Fully Subsidised? With a plan? I said "That is the most expensive phone in the world".
Right now we're selling millions and millions and millions of phones a year, Apple is selling ZERO phones a year.. In
6 months they'll have the most expensive phone by far ever in the marketplace.. and.. let's see.

Can you please tell me why Samsung doesn't report S5 sales![]()
If i was a Samsung fan i would be really pissed on them for keeping me in dark and LIES Shipped or Sold?![]()
You guys carrying on about consumer revolt forget that Apple makes the single most in demand phone on the planet.
If consumers wanted cheaper phones, why hasn't the iPhone 5c had explosive sales? Hmmm?
Consumers will ALWAYS pay a premium for the premier brand, and that's what Apple is.
For those of you who doubt it.. take this quote into consideration from just after the original iPhone launch..
What we saw was that Apple has the product that means THEY get to set the price.
That's reality. No distortion field.
Yes, Android phones have bigger screens, and this and that and are amazing, etc etc but at the end of the day.. it doesn't matter.
Open up a newspaper. U.S. carriers aren't offering iPhone's for $99 with a buy one, get one free deal.
Because the iPhone is the *cool* phone.. and people will always pay a premium for cool.
8GB was the bottom end until the iPhone 5.
Only the original iPhone didn't take off UNTIL carriers were allowed to subsidize the iPhone.
So Ballmer wasn't entirely wrong. If Apple HAD stuck to the original plan, who knows if the iPhone would have been as ubiquitous as it was - in time- before competition hit the market.
