Go back to the days of 6 and 6 Plus and run a similar play. Two models, 6.1”/6.7” no differences other than screen size. Exact same specs between the two. Premium materials, top tier specs. Keep the last years models for the cheaper price points.
What's funny is they used to sell us the "Pro features" as standard features until they realized they could charge more for them in a premium lineup. There's a reason no one felt compelled to upgrade a phone for 3-4 years except for the bleeding edge tech nerds because phone tech was advacing so rapidly. Mobile tech has plateaued, there's no reason we can't put the best features in all of the devices at this point. There is nothing wrong with the 14 plus. Not every one wants or needs the pro features. I only brought the pro because the plus was released 6 weeks after the pro and I didn’t want to wait. Staggering the release dates has impacted sales.
Agree but add a smaller phone in that lineup as well.Go back to the days of 6 and 6 Plus and run a similar play. Two models, 6.1”/6.7” no differences other than screen size. Exact same specs between the two. Premium materials, top tier specs. Keep the last years models for the cheaper price points.
So much thisCome on iPhone 15 Pro Mini, I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
Us nerds on this forum who love the mini would yes. But most people won’t.Come on iPhone 15 Pro Mini, I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
Only want SE if it is a little bigger screen with full screen and touch on power. Face or Home button still is a passI scrap all SE editions from menu. I go full Gordon Ramsey on this menu.
I wanted a much bigger screen and went from the SE2 to the 14 Plus, and I'm delighted with it. I couldn't care less about the extra features in the Pro - I don't need any of them. As for the higher refresh rate, I'd much rather have the extra battery life.No high refresh rate screens, last years processor, no dynamic island and they’re surprised people already ponying up for a near $1000 phone are just going for an extra $200 to get the Pro?
I skipped the Plus almost solely because it had a 60hz screen. Also I’d be losing the 2x zoom from my old 7 Plus. The silliest move they’ve made is making the wide angle lens the one included in the base model iPhones.
Should have made an SE Plus with the design of the 8 Plus for an extra hundred and it would have sold like hotcakes.
And even with the good carrier trades, they keep stretching out the terms, so it's barely worth it to pay the device off and do the deal. Problem is the plans for the manufacturers are different than the carriers. Apple wants you to upgrade as often as possible, but carriers just want to find ways to lock you to themAt 899 it was massively overpriced. The android competition (pixel series) blew it apart spec wise, and for anyone firmly in apple land , the other options available were better.
iPhones are turning into very pricey items these days and little improvement year over year to warrant trading up unless your phone is like over 3 years old.
Yea they delay the + to nudge people to Pros and then wonder why no +s sellThere is nothing wrong with the 14 plus. Not every one wants or needs the pro features. I only brought the pro because the plus was released 6 weeks after the pro and I didn’t want to wait. Staggering the release dates has impacted sales.
They did…pretty much everywhere except for the US.
One iPhone… in a market frequently demanding different things.hark back to the days of Steve Jobs - there was just one iPhone
Yeah that’s correct. My point exactly. You often buy a new car with an old engine. They are not updated yearly. The reason is simply 1 year is not enough for car companies to develop a new engine. Engine development take time and car renewal cycles are not yearly.
There is also no yearly need for a new car engine since you are limited at how much speed you can drive safely, unlike phone chips where you get new app use every year that requires a more powerful chip. A phone you buy in the summer of 2023 and plan to keep for 3-4 years should not have a chip from 2021.
As every time anyone mentions this: mFI revenue is nothing in Apple’s total revenue. Obviously, selling more smartphones because USB-C is an upside would exceed the lost revenue for mFI. The real reason is that probably Apple thinks it’s a net negative (more customers would be annoyed because of USB-C than happy, so fewer sales).Maybe you are in the EU, I’m not sure?
I am not yet fully convinced that it’s coming for sure to the US models
Apple’s desire for nickel and diming (mFI license revenue) and being petty are always surprising to me.
There is if they want my money, and as the phone is central to ecosystem, I won't be refreshing by aged iPad or intel MacBook until I know there is a phone for me. I can't be the only one thinking that way. You can't complain about poor sales when you are alienating your long term customers and leaving money on the tableNo mini needed.
If I guess the future correctly occasionally, can I be used as a source as well?According to a post by yeux1122 on Naver, who has shared both accurate and inaccurate information in the past, Apple is thinking of ways to reevaluate how it treats pro and non-pro iPhones for the iPhone 15.
Great idea. At the moment it's "expensive for what you get", expensive and even more expensive.
Terrible.Whole Apple line up too complex.
Should be easier to find what you need.

I got rid of the iPhone Plus and I renamed the two Air products, got rid of MacBook Pro 13, and got rid of the out of date tapered iPad design. I get rid of all this SE models.
