Blowout is the understatement of the year...Ballmer must be peeing in his pants now. With 100% unit sales increase, The iPhone is an unheard-of success around the world!

As PED said in his Apple 2.0 blog:

Apple is simply the most profitable tech company in the business.

GO APPLE!

A very nice stat is that overseas sales are almost 60%. :apple:

They sell computers, don't they? Wake up and get out of your Windows world, Sir.

Again, look up your terminology there Mr. Know It All.

Sheeez...do you have anything remotely intellectual to contribute to this thread?...or just broad assumptions and running around like a 12 year old wacked out of his brain on Pixie Stix stating Apple is your god? Seriously.

Droid Did it seems!

More like AT&T’s reputation.

From what I've seen, Verizon customers were screaming for a decent smartphone (hence the good Droid sales). If Apple have any Verizon related iPhone announcements up their sleeves, the iPhone should see a nice bump in the U.S.

8.7M iPhones in one quarter? Unbelievable. And that doesn't even include iPod Touches. Despite complaints about developers' products being buried in a sea of apps, it still sounds like a very good time to be an iPhone developer. Does anyone know how many total iPhones are out there now, and how many of those are actually active?

And now they're socking away something like $10B per year in profit? It won't be that long before they can actually afford their own wireless network...

So check Apple's built-in dictionary and let me know, genius...Apple indeed rules the roost.

MS IS DEAD.

I am now even more excited for the Tablet press release this week...and to also see if Macs will break the 10% computer marketshare barrier. I would love to get another Mac, but kinda holding out for a non-Mini sub $1000 desktop that I can beef up and alter over time if needed.

Apple Stock is down in After hours trading!!!

Why is it that after a great numbers announcement Apples stock always takes a tumble. :eek Guidance is good, new products in the pipe.. WHAT the heck?!! Apples stock going down! NOT right. ::mad::mad:

Again...you're speaking in generalities in your entire post/reply. Have some more Pixie Stix. Let us know when you can reply in a meaningful way that is truly a debate.

That is normal. It is the big dogs shaking out all the little Joe Six pack investors to get scared and sell so they can buy it cheap and make more money.

As a "Joe Six pack investor," I hate the stock market. AAPL has done well for me (though I only put in $5k way back then - silly me), but the roller coaster ride over the years has been most unenjoyable. And the market manipulation by the big players is infuriating (refer to the big drop last Friday and its cause).

A friend called me a couple of days ago and asked if he should buy some AAPL. I told him, "You don't have the stomach for it."
