If by not a word you mean several words specifying battery life, then yes. Did you watch the keynote?
I did but might’ve missed just that bit. 2 hours is really whatever, but, I guess, they expect you to sit in it while connected to a power outlet.

Wasn't it to be something like this?

The tech needs to hit the pavement and start running… This is that, its Apple hitting the pavement and running… I am happy Apple has entered the ring. They cant advance without entering the market.

This is pretty decent. And promising.

Price is the same as a Mac Studio… Yep, this is for devs and people in content creation.

unlike many, i’m excited for the new product and it’s commercial value. Imagine 3d virtual tours while shopping for a home, how about furnishing a new home with furniture before you buy and looking around. As with many things when it comes to apple, they create the device and the software folks figure out what we are going to need and want.
The see endless possibilities using this with my mortgage business and once Share with remote user becomes available, then my clients and i can interact in ways not yet imagined. For biz use, wow, the first to adapt are going to be the early winners.

There's tons of possibilities with this. People have just no imagination. I'll throw out a random one. Public speaking is the #1 ranked fear still to date of people. You can create an app that virtualizes yourself in a room situation with people to practice as a way to practice this. They've have versions of this already where you can record yourself but it's no where near where it can be. (I know some people think I'm joking about these use cases but I'm not)

Why do some people in here act like Apple just invented VR/AR?
Not surprised to see this nonsense start already...just minutes after the announcement. I have yet to see a person discuss this that hasn't brought up other VR sets in the discussion. Those of us who use this stuff a lot see a MASSIVE improvement over what we're used to - and that makes it all that more exciting.

"Apple's Vision Pro starts at $3,499"

Should have started with this :(

It does make us ask who is this device aimed at? Businesses, developers, rich consumers? It just seems such a left-field price for something that has a fairly public release. There’s alternatives on the market now much much cheaper and I’m struggling to even be the least bit curious.

These will look amazing with Airpods Max wearing together. Moreover, with this combo you are instantly ready to dive to your bathtube or even deeper and watch Finding Nemo in 3D. 😀

Tim Cook looked slightly deranged when he announced it. On the plus side, it's the most exciting product I've seen since the iPhone. I want one more than I have anything since then. Question is, is it worth a divorce?

We'll be purchasing several of these if they perform as advertised. Apple looks like they have just created a whole new way to work and play. Nice.

It's actually worse than this. The Quest 2 balanced decently if you picked up the rear mounted battery, but without it you really felt the weigh on your forehead. I don't know how much lighter Apple's headset is, but I'll bet there is still going to be a lot of fatigue wearing it. Although I'm sure rear mounted batteries will be available from 3rd parties.

But overall, yeah it didn't veer any from today's existing VR headset designs. It's still going to be uncomfortable, hot, heavy, and clunky to wear and no seeing my eyes in the screen won't help.

I think these look pretty amazing. I’m a little surprised by all the hate.

Ahh, what am I saying, this is MacRumors, everyone is going to crap all over it, but it’ll still mysteriously fly off the shelves and be on back order for months.

It’s basically to do what we do now but with floating things around, it does not add anything new. Eye control looks cool, but I’m curious to see how it works with a complex interface. The virtual keyboard… they did not even tried to demoing it.

On the one hand, it's exciting to see this product see the light of day, after so many years of development. On the other hand, as a meta quest pro user I found the Vision Pro presentation underwhelming. It simply lacked a "wow" factor or killer app that would make me want to run out and buy one on day one.
I know we have only seen the tip of the iceberg but to me the OS looks like lots of flat screens in a virtual environment. I was hoping for more immersion.
Show me Apple's take on the metaverse; AppleLink VR, vrWorld, or what have you. Show me game demos and fitness apps that highlight moving around in a virtual environment. Show me apps that redefine and not duplicate a traditional workspace. Be different.
Apple's competition is a $499 headset that has a ton of apps. That's a tough sell at $3,499.
Let's get exclusive content, starting with Disney VR, a virtual theme park where you can ride every ride and explore every park from the comfort of your own home. As a bonus, explore Disney's Yesteryear Showcase, a virtual theme park comprised of every ride that no longer exists in the real world. I'm looking at you, Mr Toad's Wild Ride.

This place makes me laugh.

$3500 no way this will fail!
*apple also reveals a new Mac Pro that starts at around $7000*
Wow amazing new Mac Pro! How exciting!
