How 'bout even MORE new magical emojis to make our communications "rich and eloquent", and even MORE watch straps to show off with, so that our lives are finally complete, meaningful, and consequential! While at it, a couple MORE addictive games to keep us even MORE entertained/disconnected and too damn busy/stupid to bother to reflect and know how to ask the real, important questions... Can't innovate, my pimply ass!!! /rant over

Merry Happies to all for 2017! Let's hope fewer artists call it quits... and that we get some fully-baked Macs

How about being able to change the volume without missing 3 seconds of whatever you're watching?

Like it but that should be in effect 24/7. Shouldn't have to click a button for it. Long overdue as well. But hey how about a bunch of useless iMessage effects instead?

I use Zoom Filter and reduce white point from accessibility with a triple click along with night shift during the night. iPhone screen brightness has always been an issue for me. Couldn't see it in sunlight prior to the 7 yet blinded at night. That's a lot of steps to reduce brightness, though.

I used to do this but not the minimum zoom level is 1.2x. It used to be 1.0x

So 10.3 isn't available to developers...
Yet Mac Rumors is getting hundreds of hits from 10.3 devices...

That can only mean one thing...

Apple employees (software engineers?) are swarming all over Mac Rumors every day. Interesting. Very interesting.

Maybe I should tone down some of my more 'colorful' comments. But then again... maybe not:eek:
Apple spy!!! They are spying us .

If you know the Story behind it, its actually Tim Cook's way of saying "How do you like them Apples ?"

That assumes Theatre Mode is, at a minimum, a DCI-P3 "display" mode.

Hoping it's a dark mode. Really the only thing I feel iOS for the iPhone needs right now. Anything relating to actually using your phone in a theatre or the wide color gamut nonsense is a waste.

Hopefully, once activated, a boxing glove comes out and punches you in the face if you touch your phone before the movie ends.
If someone pulling up their phone 6 rows away distracts you that much are you really even that interested in the movie you paid way too much to see? Sounds like you and whoever you go to the movies with enjoy the head shake and eye roll you do when someone looks at their phone during a movie.

I would hope this isn't an actual theater mode because all this does is encourage the bastards who pull out their phones.

Yeah because pulling out your phone is so damn important. God forbid you miss that snap your friend sent. Using your phone during a movie is an jerk move any way you look at it. You go to the movies to be entertained and apparently that isn't enough for people.

Yeah it's the proof for all the idiots who say on here " do you think anyone at apple is actually reading macrumors?" Yes they do. And they have for years.

It's the end of the world for you but what if there's an actual emergency? You have no way of knowing when you are rows away and someone pulls out their phone. Phones are not only for entertainment buddy they are a line of communication. I look at my texts because idk if it is important or not. Sorry I don't blow off the entire world when I sit in a dark room watching a movie.

You make it out like people are playing angry birds with the volume all the way up

Assuming people are just intentionally being jerks to you for the fun of it is a jerk move.

For what it's worth in case anyone from Apple is reading ;-)
My wishlist for iOS 10.3, or any future release for that matter:

Overall
- Customisable control center, like notification center
- Force Touch control center for e.g. Wifi, Bluetooth,
- Customisable default apps for Mail, Calendar, Contacts, ...
- Widgets on lock screen (so I can see my Runkeeper progress without unlocking, use my iPhone in nightstand mode like the Watch, or use my old iPhones as wall-mounted HomeKit controls, ...)
- Multiple users on iPad
- Allow iPad to access files shared from macOS
- Multi-tasking multiple instances of same app (Safari split screen is a hack, why is this not available for all apps??)
- Add apps which are missing on iPad (Weather, Calculator, Voice Memos, Phone)

User Interface
- Dark mode
- Merge long press & 3D touch
- Introduce an "edit" sheet separate from the "share" sheet (it is so confusing to find certain functions hidden under "share")

Home Screen
- Live icons - Apple's own icons (Calendar, Clock, Weather) have been allowed some type of interactivity since iOS 1, why hasn't some API for this been made public?
- Smarter method for rearranging icons (e.g. move multiple icons at once, or auto-sort most used to 1st screen)

Siri

- On-device Siri
- Textual input for Siri (i.e. merge Siri with Spotlight - why are there 2 separate search interfaces?)

Settings
- Reshuffle the settings menu.
- Make "Accessibility" a top-level item (so many cool things in there)
- Allow access to settings both from within the app and from within the Settings screen. It's confusing now that many apps require some settings to be handled via "settings" and some via "options" inside the app.
- Specific example of this - why can't I edit the Notifications screen from within the "Notifications" page of the Settings app? Why do I need to scroll down on notifications and press edit?

Music
- Make it more usable for people who only use their local downloaded library, no Apple Music
- Merge the iTunes Store app into the seperate apps for Music, iBooks, Videos, Podcasts, ...

Photos
- Sync faces across devices!
- Better user interface for face detection adjustments: why on earth is "not this person" under the "share" sheet? A multi-picture "click all pictures of person X" view would work much much faster than the single-picture "is this X? Yes / No" screen that they have now
- Allow albums from the "Albums" tab to also be shared under the "Shared" tab rather than requiring 2 completely seperate albums for private collection vs. sharing
- Better user interface for the markup options (hiding this behind the "more" button sucks)

Health
- Sync from iPhone to iPad. I know they wouldn't want to sync over iCloud due to privacy concerns, but I would imagine some type of local sync from iPhone to iPad should be possible, just like how the Watch syncs to iPhone
- Allow entry of non-quantitive info, like listing when I sprained my ankle, had a cold, got a flu vaccine, ...
- Allow me to enter info for my kids as well. Fevers, childhood diseases, growth, how much milk the baby drank, ...

I think it's safe to say they probably aren't looking for a list of suggestions on page 4 of the comment section to an article about theatre mode. I didn't read but it seems like you should just create a wishlist thread and hope it makes the front page

:)

No worries, I have no illusions around how many people will read that post. But yeah, it's been a while since the last wishlist thread, might be a good idea to edit it a bit more and post a separate thread.

And before cell phones, did you never leave the house in case you got an emergency call? It's annoying and rude to pull your phone out in a theater and check texts. If you can't disconnect from your phone for two hours and enjoy a movie in a theater, spare the rest of us and watch it a home where you can jump to look at all those possible "emergency" texts.

Lol, get a grip and focus on the movie you are so interested in. Before cell phones you went to the movie and 2 hours later found out your dog destroyed your house or that your baby sitter flaked out and your kids have been running loose. Don't even consider that maybe someone close to you was involved in an accident or worse. But who am I kidding, you can wait 2 hours for any of that, especially if it makes the pricks in the row behind me happy. Texts are also my home security so don't assume because nothing important happens on your phone that it doesn't on any phone.

I don't have to jump for texts, my phone is in my pocket. No need to get all worked up about anything, we are talking about a hypothetical situation. I would suggest that you breathe and not take everything so personally.

While I'm sure Apple employees do visit this website there are other scenarios as well.

A lot of software testing is done using scripts to see what breaks the software. There could be scripts running to visit a number of popular websites to see if they anything might cause safari to crash or something else to malfunction.

Theatre mode? They'd most likely call a dark mode "Dark Mode". Don't really see any other way to connect to movie theatres though. Nor the live version.

I used to do this but not the minimum zoom level is 1.2x. It used to be 1.0x

Just double tap the screen with three fingers to zoom out. The filter stays activated, but zoom returns to 1.0x. It really doesn't matter what you set the zoom level at if you just want the filter.
