Lol current studio display shouldn’t cost this much, now I’m regretting it fml but paying 3k for display is insane can’t justify that

The issue Apple bakes in a ton of things you don't need. Why is there no option for a display without a iPhone 11 CPU, 64 gb storage, webcam and speakers built in?

If Apple could just release a monitor with a couple physical buttons, removable cord, no webcam, no speakers, no iOS chip, no internal storage it would fly off the shelves because not only would Apple users buy it but then Windows and Linux users would as well.

Instead Apple does what Apple does and bakes everything in so that the OS has to control the monitor and it has things you don't need so they are upselling you everything. Apple's own marketing shows 3 monitors. Why on earth would someone need to buy 3 webcams, 3 sets of speakers and 3 A13 Bionic chips, 3 sets of 64gb storage? Just complete waste to spend close to 5 grand for three 27" displays. $3K would be reasonable.

This would be an ideal product to release alongside the new Mac Pro and updated Mac Studio with M2 Max. I'm also quite sure that by the time both of these products are released, Apple has already fixed the limitations of Thunderbolt, and the high refresh rate won't be an issue anymore with 5k (or larger).

My biggest concern still remains the price. I don't think Apple will price this under $2000, my bet is that the price will be around $2500.

People who work at Apple only know and hang with people who have incomes in the top 5%. They don't know “regular people” with more common incomes and they don't how those people live. That's partly why Apple products will always have things like $999 monitor stands.

That why god invented LG, Samsung, Ben-Q, Asus, ViewSonic, etc.

Simply buy a display that meets your needs from them. Easy.

Other people require a better display with better image quality. Apple fills that need.

As someone who has used 4K and 5K screens a ton and side by side at times, I can say with 100% confidence that 5K is noticeably better than 4K especially when it comes to text. It is an absolute pleasure to work on a 5K screen (Studio Display for example) and I have a 4K 144hz LG Ultragear next to it. There is no comparison.
you are talking far too much sense for this forum..... you must actually be a professional.

I still think anyone who bought one of these were stupid. Compare the XDR next to it in-store and can see how bad it is.
It was seriously just a money grab on Apple's part. But Apple also has a stigma issue going on too, if they sell anything below 1,000 dollars, its probably not considered good. The honest truth is, for Apple, its probably worth 799 max. But they can't sell it at that.

Absolutely true. I have three LG 4K displays. And an Apple Studio display. All connected to a Mac Studio computer.

My Studio Display is much better display in terms of image quality. It is instantly noticeable. And it's what I use to post process my photographs in Lightroom. In a word, it's superb for that use.

My three 4K LG displays are nice, but I only use them for running X-Plane.

27 is way too small to get work done, try having 2 windows side to side with a descent sized font, it should be 30 at the very least. 32 would be best. That said, you can get a Cinema display 30 for less money and better quality.
Agreed. I looked at in at the store and just couldn't see myself using one for work. Still using my 30" Cinema)))

The same crap as always.

- you will only be able to connect one computer. You won't be able to connect multiple computers at the same time and then switch back and forth.
- the monitor will only work properly with Macs. With other systems the monitor will only work limited.
- Only 1 year warranty
- Glossy ... and so on

... and new with Apple: Monitor with fan and firmware updates.

Exactly why I buy Dell UltraSharp, built in KVM, 3 year warranty, matte and height adjustable stand standard.

Hopefully they can make their own model with the same panel. Also hoping this is made using IPS Black technology as that will greatly improve black levels/reduce blooming.
