i have ipad mini 4 ... it feels small but i don't want a 9.7 inch ipad .. too big to use on the go .. now if they can make a almost bezel less ipad mini with an increased screen size, that'd be great

What about the iMac and Mac Mini? iPad is dead.
Stupid question but what does it nean
"bezel-free edge-to-edge display"
0.8" of difference makes that one hell of a great product not free any more. Microsoft must be very happy about Apple's decision to increase the iPad's display size.So ? If you need it, you pay for it. Office is one hell of a great product.

No one is forcing you to be snarky eitherno one is forcing you to buy either.

I'll add that this rumored event might be the perfect swan song for the small auditorium at 1 Infinite Loop.? Not sure how it's not clear to you. It seems very clear that the Steve Jobs Theater will be ready, 'later this year' and not in April.
No pivot, not a great product. Then I can do everything better with numbers.0.8" of difference makes that one hell of a great product not free any more. Microsoft must be very happy about Apple's decision to increase the iPad's display size.
I think we need an iOS Pro operating system. The iPad Pro is some very nice hardware with and OS that doesn't let it be "pro".

You have a valid point I agree. I have no qualms about paying for useful software, and in fact, I do have a family subscription to Office 365 which allows me to run Office on all of my devices.I am not being snarky. What I said is simply true. If you think that either product is worth the price, you buy it. Otherwise you don't. It's a business decision.
We are not entitled to receive anything for free from Microsoft, Apple, or any other company across the globe.
If we get something for free, then that's great. And if MS decides to increase the free offer to cover the new 10.5" iPad then hurrah!
I have an Office 365 subscription and I love it. It's worth every penny.

I am merely stating the fact that for people trying to decide between the 9.7" and the 10.5" iPad, one of the parameters to consider is free vs paid for Office 365 caused just by the display size. For some people it may not be an issue but for others, it could be something to consider and most people may not even be aware of it.
I'm guessing the 10.5 will have approximately the same footprint as the 9.7, so you get more screen real estate for about the same size. I'm sure the bezel-less design will migrate to the big pro in a year or so. All just guesses.I agree that a 10.5 iPad is on its way but why make this their 'bezel-less flagship' iPad rather than the 12.9? Apple has historically placed a flagship status on its largest screened devices. Certainly as far as iOS devices go. With this being the case, wouldn't it make more sense to release bezel-less 10.5 and 12.9? Which pro user would sacrifice screen real estate for thin bezels? Style over substance. Thoughts?
Get ready for a big disappointment. It's better for your health not to expect anythingThese new iPads are going to hasten the demise of "real computers". I'm expecting some incredible announcements from Apple in the next few weeks.
I cursed so many times this PDF reader that jumps to the beginning of the document if it detects a touch at the top of the screen. Really cool when you accidentally let your finger enter the screen area because there is already not so much space to hold it (iPad Airs have a pretty thin bezel already), and jumps to page 1 while you are in the middle of a 1000 pages document...
I'm guessing the new design will be newsworthy in and of itself, making a small town hall/keynote appropriate.Based on the last 4 keynotes, they might as well just launch these products via online. And just have the one keynote for the iPhone .
Teacher don't use iPads anymore. It's Windows and chromebooks. I'm curious what the target audience for the iPads will be. Without any software improvements and poor handling of files it's a very expensive internet device. My guess is that a 12.9" iPad will likely be used on a desk, and so bezels isn't that huge of a concern. A 10.5" iPad is still within the "portable" threshold, so any attempts to make it thinner and smaller and lighter to hold is always welcome.
As a teacher who walks around the classooom with a 9.7" iPad Pro in hand, any reduction in weight or bulk is always appreciated.
Oh, I doubt it very much. They must be more than thankful to Apple for increasing the display size to 10.5". Microsoft states that Office 365 can be used free of charge on devices with 10" or less. Now, it makes me wonder why the new iPad is not just 10" but 10.5" which leaves no room to argue about the status of the free vs paid usage.Ok, now I understand what you were saying. I wonder if MS will simply change its subscription model to cover the 10.5" iPad.
If the event will take place in the new Steve Jobs theatre on Apple park, expect 1,5 hour of how great the building is, showing of movies about the construction and eye to detail and finish spoken by Ive. Then one more thing: Phil introduces the incremental upgrades of the iPad, finished by Tim how amazing they're and how thrilled he is. Saying goodbye to the audience and ensuring they've lots of stuff in the pipeline and you'll see this only coming from Apple.I hope for a one and a half-two hours for event and present the 10.5" ipad BUT also new mac mini and imac and internal upgrades for mac pro
